RE: TP , Could This Be It ? - baggietrousers - 06-11-2017 Don't get your hopes folks. It ain't gonna happen. The footballing Antichrist will be with us until it's too late to save the season, and then some. Hate to say this but we will be swapping places with the dingles. ?? RE: TP , Could This Be It ? - WBA-Josh - 06-11-2017 https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2017/11/05/west-brom-board-not-planning-to-sack-tony-pulis-over-international-break/ It looks like the chairman and board are even more oblivious to what is happening to this club than we thought they were. It would be understandable to keep him if we finished 14th last season and this season's aim was the same but we didn't, we finished in 10th and should have finished in 8th. The current position we find ourselves in is pathetic and TP has to be removed as soon as possible for the good of the club. RE: TP , Could This Be It ? - Luke_East_Baggie - 06-11-2017 First time logging in, in over a year and a half. Went up on Saturday - Been going to a lot of the aways but non at home. Terrible as usual. 3 CBS 3 CMS and our 2 smallest players up front and we hoof it. There's no one in the team who wants to pass or run with the ball forward in the middle. Everyone is petrified to go forward and / or lose the ball. I know you all know this but need to vent! Good 20 mins of Pulis out chants in the second half. Hegazi had a pretty solid game and showed a bit of urgency. Everyone else blended into panicky mediocrity. Hope everyone is okay and glad to see the Predictions League is back up - takes a lot of time so good on you beefy / zin / bomber. RE: TP , Could This Be It ? - Dingle-Dingle - 06-11-2017 West Brom manager Tony Pulis is "not worried" that a 10-game winless run and a third straight defeat will force the club's board to sack him. (Birmingham Mail) No because he wants the payoff. I am sure that we do have the team, but I would suggest that the "barks from the sideline" do not "indicate that they can't". They indicate that they are not allowed to. Do you think TP likes the Die Hard movies.......one foot in the oppositions half and a timer goes off in their boots.....must get back......must defend......must hoof the ball up to the smallest player on the pitch 60 yards up the pitch......KABOOOOOM. I would love to be a player, imagine the consequences. Most players play to get a win bonus, perhaps our lot play to get this bonus with less than 30% possession.......It annoys me to watch and listen to it on WM. I feel sorry each week for Bomber Brown having to witness this drivel. #attackattackattack RE: TP , Could This Be It ? - talkSAFT - 06-11-2017 I was pleased 3 years ago when Pulis took over, and immediately moved us out of relegation favourites to safety. Then we played Leicester (in the April when we were safe and Leicester were doomed). We were 2-1 up and then we had a corner 10 mins from time and Leicester looked lifeless. Another goal then, and Leicester would have been out of the game, and looked demoralised.......But I looked at the penalty area, and there were just 3 men in their box. Trevor Francis was commentating, and he said "I can't believe this - Tony Pulis has just ordered his central defenders back to the half-way line!" Leicester then won possession and broke, and Jamie Vardy (who I'd only just heard of then) scored for them, then (I think) he got the winner 2-3. Leicester took great confidence from this win, then got 5 wins and a draw from their last 7 games to stay up. Next season they won the League, and Vardy became a household name. So you could say that Pulis won them the Premiership in 2016, and Vardy demanded his own salary! You might win games by sticking all players behind the ball, but Pulis should have looked back on this game, and realised that going for goal wins matches - and keeps Turnstiles ticking over. I went off him that day as Albion Boss, and only forgave him this time last year when he brought Brunty and Mozza back, and let them play a bit of football.
