RE: Town v Man City match thread - Amelia Chaffinch - 26-11-2017 Seriously, that was shameful from their players. RE: Town v Man City match thread - Lord Snooty - 27-11-2017 Seen the penalty incident. Definite dive. ![]() Yes, Malone has touched him, but it's a f******ing dive. ![]() As for the red card, we should appeal, but there's no point is there? ![]() Just seen Arsenal's penalty at Burnley and that's another dive. Why are these so called big club's always given this added advantage? Surely the fact that their teams cost ten times as much to assemble is advantage enough without sloping the playing field further their way. ![]() RE: Town v Man City match thread - Jeebers - 27-11-2017 It's a cracking thread again Snoots, it a real shame that there is hardly anyone contributing, I put myself in that bracket, read a lot but not much time to contribute, on to the game, the referee's an Arab, talk about being biased, what happened yesterday was a disgrace, every decision agin us, Proud of the Town and the way we defended, yep, it's our home form that will keep us up, the way we defended and broke against one of the best footballing club's on the planet, well done Town, take a bow RE: Town v Man City match thread - Terrier1987cas - 27-11-2017 I don't get all the anger from Town fans. Lots of this 'we got robbed' and 'they cheated' nonsense that's just embarrassing and makes us look like sore losers. The best team won, fair and square. No arguments with the penalty at all and the red card has come when the game's finished so although harsh (given Sané only got a yellow) it made no difference. I don't think we can argue with the 2-1 scoreline, just like I don't think they could have argued with a 1-1 scoreline - we defended brilliantly and can take immense pride from the game but let's just graciously accept we lost to the best team in the country instead of acting like victims. RE: Town v Man City match thread - Lord Snooty - 27-11-2017 They were cheating all over the place. Sterling in particular is terrible. Yes they were far superior to us, of course they're gonna be. So why do the refs always give these wealthy clubs all the breaks? It's not just since we came up obviously. It's been going on for donkeys years. I remember Barnsley getting beat at home by Liverpool when they were in the Prem. The most obviously bribed ref you could ever see. Football stinks at times. But we shall battle on against the odds. RE: Town v Man City match thread - Terrier1987cas - 27-11-2017 Was Sterling really any worse than VLP is on a weekly basis? I get there is big club bias, I just don't think it was that apparent yesterday - in fact the big decisions the referee got pretty much spot on for the 90 minutes. At one point the entire stadium went mental because they thought VLP running into a static De Bruyne was the same as Malone running 20 yards to blatantly foul Sterling - it's just not the same. A few clever fouls their attacking players committed could maybe have been bookings, but they were hardly shocking decisions. RE: Town v Man City match thread - Lord Snooty - 27-11-2017 Yes but that's all part of the partisan home atmosphere. We have to go mental and get in the faces of these superstars. Got to intimidate them. It doesn't always work but when hardened cases like Pulis comment on it, it obviously is. RE: Town v Man City match thread - ToonTerrier - 27-11-2017 Was on the A1 during the match yesterday (after a brief stop over at Merrie England on new hey rd) so had to make do with the 5live commentary and motd2’s 1-sided coverage. 5live were very respectful of our game plan to be fair. Disappointing result but we’ve given a good account of ourselves, glad Wagner seems to have learned from the spurs game. I think Mounie should’ve been on earlier though. Will we rest players mid-week now that the toffees game is looking like it could be crucial? If they draw or lose to West Ham and we get something from them they’ll be in real trouble. That's what I'm saying - I get doing it during the game and the atmosphere all season has been incredible, but we don't need to then whine about it afterwards. The result was hugely fair and no major decisions went against us wrongly. RE: Town v Man City match thread - Lord Snooty - 27-11-2017 The free kick when Sane hit the bar and Hogg got booked fora foul on Silva. No contact whatsoever. A dive. If that had gone in, would there be retrospective action? Would there knickers. The elbow by Walker on VLP. Totally missed by the officials. |
