RE: Deportivo la Coruña v Albion - drewks - 06-08-2017 (06-08-2017, 15:26)Bierzo Baggie Wrote: First half; Deportivo had most of the play but they weren’t really threatening. The sending off on 40 minutes spoilt the game really and it was related to the shirt pulling tactic that they used to break down any rare Albion counter attack. Livermore reacted and the ref showed him a second yellow, unnecessarily so, especially for a friendly. Noticed that Pulis went livid and went across for a chat with Pepe Mel. But in Spain, sneaky shirt pulling is considered to be a tactical foul and even a legitimate part of the game. Barcelona have been doing it for years!Nicely put together, BOB ![]() RE: Deportivo la Coruña v Albion - Stairs - 07-08-2017 I liked Pepe Mel. It was a shame he did not have more time to prove himself with us. Another one that got away in my opinion. RE: Deportivo la Coruña v Albion - WBA-Josh - 07-08-2017 I'm not going to comment about Pepe Mel's time at the Albion because it was done to death three years ago but I will say that I am happy that he has found a good club in Deportivo who should give him time to hopefully build something good and get them back into the top ten. I saw on twitter that after the match on Saturday he had a meal and drinks with the Albion fans that travelled to the game. It seems like he still has a place in his heart for WBA and the fans. |
