Owl talk or whatever it's called is the same, talking about trains and hotels. Most of those that post online seem to think this sewn up(not the sportsbabble lot). Please, please don't read Owlstalk, the crap that gets spouted on there is shocking at times!!!! I know some of you are on DATM, but these single team mass forums don't half get their full share of numpties!!! I will defend the hotel thing though. By the time we got to the PO final last season, it was very tough to book hotels and first find a room and second get it at a decent rate. With a lot of hotels having the ability to cancel before you arrive, I think a lot of that is fans making sure they have it sorted if we get there rather than any guarantee we actually will!!! Last season I had booked my flight before we got to the final and before I had any real knowledge of whether I would get a ticket or not!!! RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - jjamez - 16-05-2017 Surely Wembley is big enough to fit everyone who wants a ticket. Especially with this seasons teams RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - St Charles Owl - 16-05-2017 (16-05-2017, 17:43)jjamez Wrote: Surely Wembley is big enough to fit everyone who wants a ticket. Especially with this seasons teams You would think so yes, but last season we got 45,000 tickets and could still have sold a few thousand more had we been given them. Hull sold about 25,000 tickets and the upper tier on their end on the Royal Box side was completely empty but due to segregation issues we were not allowed to have any of those empty seats!! You know how it is with these games, every man and his dog who has ever had any affiliation with the club is suddenly a hard core supporter!!! RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - jjamez - 16-05-2017 Bet there was some blades in there RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - sloppyattheback - 16-05-2017 Great thread. I'm not at all nervous as i sit here tonight after Sundays showing, my only real concern is can we play 2 flawless performances on the bounce without individual errors that have littered the last 6 weeks of the season cropping up to bite us on the arse? Expect as fans we will get drown out amongst 32000 Wendys but I'm going to give it my best with Jnr Slops to help the lads along and let them know we're right there with them to the end. I can see it going to the very late stages when tiredness & nervous energy will begin to show and errors might crop up, maybe drift into ET, unsure if it will go all the way to pens with our dismal pen taking this season. I would love for us to take a lead but that's maybe getting beyond myself, but I'm more confident than I was in the build up to Sunday having seen how we coped with them while they sat back, my view is often attack is the best form of defense and it naturally forces the opposition to track back. We do however have to take what 1/2 chances might come our way this time. Will be interesting whatever the outcome. I could be distraught by 10pm or 10.45 pm but whatever (and once the dust settles) this season has been fantastic, best in my 37 seasons and could easily have been unbelievable (auto promotion) with the addition of better attacking options in January. Bring it on ! RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - Lord Snooty - 16-05-2017 Goodnight Fulham. RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - theo_luddite - 16-05-2017 Just beat me to it Snoots. ![]() How does a team that scores for fun not score in the play-off's? Well OK they got one but they stuffed 5 past Reading (and us) at home in the regular season. I guess they are consistent at beng inconsistent. RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - Lord Snooty - 16-05-2017 Al Habsi. That's why. He were brilliant tonight. RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - theo_luddite - 16-05-2017 Haven't seen the game but he was seriously at fault for their equaliser on Saturday. Coughed up stuff like that all season when I've seen them on the tellybox. Hope he gets it out of his system - having a blinder that is. RE: Wendies v Town Championship Play-offs 2nd Leg - Lord Snooty - 16-05-2017 Yes, easy to see why Reading have been tubbed a few times. Al Habsi has made the most saves in the Championship this season, which suggests their defence is leaky. Catch Al Habsi on his day off and Bob's your uncle. |
