RE: Welcome to the EFL - Devongone - 17-05-2017 Yeah but Shaw Lane have money and an ex-Chesterfield player in the team. Doesn't that trump a university in the middle of nowhere with a distant view of Morecambe Bay? RE: Welcome to the EFL - themaclad - 17-05-2017 Like f@@@ it does RE: Welcome to the EFL - spireitematt - 18-05-2017 Shaw Lane has been pretty successful over the last few seasons and they have a pretty nice ground. Lancaster City have done well to get promoted on such a small budget and they've got a pretty nice ground and they are a team with potential and with the right financial backing they could easily become a league club in the next 7-10 years. RE: Welcome to the EFL - Devongone - 18-05-2017 I was being deliberately unfair to Lancaster Uni by the way - I liked it a lot when I visited. The town's nice but I don't think I'd be expecting to find an EFL team there. Any more than I would at Nailsworth. Isn't that what we were talking about? "Like f@@@ it does" was an extraordinarily concise summary of the matter in hand. Congratulations! I'd still back Shaw Lane to go further and higher than Lancaster. |
