Is it tit for tat because we've only given them half of the south stand? No its not tit for tat. It has been agreed between the 4 teams in the playoffs that for each game the away fans will get 2000 tickets and that all tickets will be 20 quid. The upper tier of the West Stand at Hillsborough technically holds just over 4000, but the police and safety advisory group have consistently refused permission to Wednesday to use all the seats due to the excessive segregation policy they have!! The game next week will be a sell out but that will mean somewhere around 34,000 under the current SAG guidelines in a stadium that has nearly 40,000 seats!! RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Lord Snooty - 10-05-2017 I've updated the original post to include the failed 2006 campaign when we lost to Barnsley. You see, it is possible to erase these things from memory. ![]() RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Lord Snooty - 10-05-2017 Paul Tierney will be the ref on Sunday. Reffed us once this season, the narrow defeat at the Emptihad. RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - sloppyattheback - 10-05-2017 20 mins Ticketmaster piped music wait but eventually got my 2 for 2nd leg, me n Junior Slops c/o T-o-T initial outlay. I'm not confident at all expectation level is low, but maybe a good place to be when I look at the last 10 games run in we've had, individual errors and more sideways than David Batty playing for England. We're in it so we can win it, will take an almighty effort, need a couple of goals ideally to take to Owlerton but as we've seen all season where would that come from exactly against a stubborn rugged opponent with a host of options up top. Got that churning feeling in my stomach already and its only Wednesday evening! RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Imre varadi - 11-05-2017 we kicked Brighton to bits or whatever ? lol youre so full of it sir !!! RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Lord Snooty - 11-05-2017 Lol, you're so taking stuff literally. ![]() RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - theo_luddite - 11-05-2017 Another mighty effort the m'lud. If we've seriously had our foot off the gas since we beat Wolves reserves, sorry, extended squad of 1st team players, for the final 3 points we needed, let's hope we put it back on for a bit longer than the 10 minutes we lasted against Fulham. I'd expect Wendies to sit back, park their double decker bus in their penalty area and try and catch us on the break again. Though with all the attacking talent now at their disposal, will they play 2 up front rather than the 1 from earlier in the season? To be fair, I don't expect us to park thee bus as you would see from say Cardiff or even Reading. We will though concede possession to you while the ball is in your half and then try to get it back in ours. We have played better all season against teams that come at us, and as you so rightly said, we will try to catch you on the break. As regards up front, I expect we will go with 2 up front, we have been playing like that for a while now with Fletcher and Hooper being the front 2. But Hooper is injured so there will have to be a change there and I would expect us to pull Rhodes off the bench to play with Fletcher and leave Forestieri and Winnall on the bench as we have for the last few games. RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - theo_luddite - 11-05-2017 It's how you played us the last two games at ours, so not expecting the leopard, er, owl, to change its spots SCO. RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - WakeyTerrier - 12-05-2017 The word coming out of Sheffield is that Carlos 'is going for it' this year in the play offs. I expect them to come at us from the off. |
