RE: Liverpool vs WBA - Match Thread - BaggieSteve - 22-10-2016 Great goal from Liverpool but so frustrating that we don't press when their defence have the ball and allow them acres of space in our half. We can't keep hold of the ball and seem incapable of any creativity or forward movement. Hope I'm wrong but fear the worst Second goal not Foster's fault but typical Albion - be negative and pass it backwards. I see Pulis shaking his head but, sorry pal, they are playing the negative, shit football you ask of them. Yes, I know we're playing a good Liverpool team but we are wretched. No control, no skill, no creativity. Pulis will probably bring on Gardiner for Chadli. We are rapidly becoming, probably already have become, the pariahs of the league. Sorry for the rant but this is utter crap RE: Liverpool vs WBA - Match Thread - Worldclassalbion - 22-10-2016 Not been on for a while because I think I'm to negative about Pulis. I know we are playing Liverpool and they are now currently top of the league as things stand BUT this is total dross. Rondon on his own, hardy any support, Fletcher keeps going backwards and we are getting nowhere. For god sake change the formation and let us try to attack because it is becoming embarrassing. Glen Hoddle is commenting on the game and talks a lot of sense. WE HAVE TO TAKE A RISK RE: Liverpool vs WBA - Match Thread - BaggieSteve - 22-10-2016 (22-10-2016, 19:24)Worldclassalbion Wrote: Not been on for a while because I think I'm to negative about Pulis. Trouble is, Worldclass, Pulis is totally risk averse RE: Liverpool vs WBA - Match Thread - May68 - 22-10-2016 Even when we're losing 2-0 it's still just like-for-like substitutions. We're never going to change this game in a million years. I also think Fletcher has been awful, McLean back to headless chicken mode and I just feel so bloody sorry for Rondon RE: Liverpool vs WBA - Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 22-10-2016 Well deserved goal for you guys!!! Much better performance in the second half and how good is it to see Brunty back putting deliveries into the box like that corner!! But why do we have to wait to be 2-0 down and totally outclassed before we start to offer up some passion and some desire to go forward? Trouble is, a 2-1 scoreline will totally gloss over a wretched performance. Liverpool well deserve their win and our performance deserves nowt. Trouble is, Piulis will spin some crap out of it. Apologies for the negativity. Pulis went in with a plan, as he always does, it didn't work due to some great play by Liverpool and poor play from you. Once you were 2-0 down he changed the formation and your second half performance was much better. Liverpool deserved the 3 points, they had the bulk of the chances but you gave it a go once Plan A failed. If you had started like you finished playing cavalier type football I think the score would have been far worse, doesn't get you any points but gets you some credit and hopefully some confidence after that second half performance. You will beat lesser teams if you play like that second half, but probably not the top teams. RE: Liverpool vs WBA - Match Thread - meandbrenarebaggies - 22-10-2016 First full game I have seen all season thanks to BTsport. So we lost by the odd goal in three to the now current league leaders; away from home. Not the end of the world, is it? We just havn't got the squad to play open attacking football; if we had we would have lost even more heavily. I was pleased with our team spirit and thought we had a good overall attitude although I was a bit miffed that Fletcher played the ball backwards so much. Thought our subs were good and changed the game a bit. All told I think the team can hold their heads up as they put in a good effort against obviously more talented players. Defend and defend again, hope to grab a goal from a set piece. As soon as the opposition score, we are in trouble. Our goal, unsurprisingly, game from a scrappy corner and then we lumped the ball up, hoping to get a lucky knock down. One shot on target! I'd like to know who these lesser teams are that we can beat - lost to Bournemouth, drew with Middlesbrough, Stoke and Sunderland. No-one is asking us to play cavalier football, it does not have to be one or the other. What we want is some level of ambition, a positive approach and not the negative, play it backwards at every opportunity. Whenever we got the ball in the first half, the first reaction is to play it backwards, grotesquely illustrated by their second goal. Let's be honest, this should have been 5-1 and not because we decided to make some positive effort at 2-0 - it should have been 4-0 before we scored and down to Fozzie that it was respectable. |
