RE: scotlands game - HerefordBull - 27-08-2016 Thats always the theory SCO but business people forget about the passion of the fans and the history related to each individual club. It would have been interesting to see if a challenge could have been made on Celtic and Sevco but fortunately we will never know. Just as in Edinburgh I cannot see the fans of United and Wednesday being happy about the same type of merger in Sheffield. You are right about a large number of Hearts fans backing Mercer, 0762, but do you think it would have been any different if it had been the other way round??? Not so long ago a Tynecastle match was supposed to be a big party celebrating the relegation, demise and liquidation of Heart of Midlothian......they had the right answer to all that cr*p by beating us with eventually Hearts being saved and to add insult to injury to all those gleeful Hibs fans, we got relegated with them.....where we still remain. ![]() I thought I saw a handsome chap next to Alex Miller...... ![]() Just watched the annual mascot race and although Sunshine didn't win he took Celtic out beautifully ![]() Hope its not an omen but Morton won!! RE: scotlands game - hibeejim21 - 27-08-2016 Mercer wanted rid of hibs for commercial reasons,I cant forgive that. RE: scotlands game - HerefordBull - 27-08-2016 Thats why he was stupid Jim, it was never going to work. RE: scotlands game - hibeejim21 - 27-08-2016 Football would be boring without rivalry, the pain of defeat and the joy of say humping them in the cup on our way to a historic trophy win.... You cant put a price on that. Mercer tried to. I don't care about rivalling the old firm, xxxx that. There is something special about having a club based in your own community...may that never change. RE: scotlands game - Fredstersafool - 27-08-2016 Agree we need the derby ok it's funny when one gets relegated but then the realism of no game kicks in and it's shite, just watched the programme sectarianism is on its way out??? He saw his big chance and was arrogant enough to think he'd get away with it. Arrogant is the perfect word for that prick Mercer his whole objective was about personnel wealth nothing else. Thing about it was the guy who stayed in Heriot Row Gulliver I think his name was who owned tesco who was bank rolling him I believe RE: scotlands game - hibeejim21 - 27-08-2016 (27-08-2016, 11:47)Fredstersafool Wrote: Agree we need the derby ok it's funny when one gets relegated but then the realism of no game kicks in and it's shite, just watched the programme sectarianism is on its way out??? mate, did you hear the full songbook out on display at kilmarnock last night ? King has played the orange card to full effect. I did laugh at jabba saying if celtic had gone into administration they would have died ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: scotlands game - Fredstersafool - 27-08-2016 Never seen the game Jim,Dave King is a poisonous prick RE: scotlands game - 0762 - 27-08-2016 King's footie club is still full of poisonous sectarian b######s as keenly heard last night on the bbc Sportsound and the BT Sport commentaries!! ![]() RE: scotlands game - St Charles Owl - 27-08-2016 (27-08-2016, 10:53)newhavenhibby Wrote: Thats always the theory SCO but business people forget about the passion of the fans and the history related to each individual club. Correct, the fans were always up in arms every time it was suggested by anyone connected to either club. I always said that the rivalry between the teams in Sheffield is what created a lot of the interest in football in the first place, I assume that's the same in Edinburgh and in Glasgow. |
