RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Mirf - 04-08-2016 Although I rarely post on any forums these days I am saddened as to why only five punters have commented on this thread to date. ![]() Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that this forum was basically run by Amelia & Snoots, so why in hell have these two not seen fit to comment on MNT's excellent match thread before now? ![]() As far as the new season is concerned I will reserve my judgement, although I will be pleasantly surprised if we don't end up surviving for yet another year, after flirting around the relegation zone for most of the season. ![]() Oh, and before I forget, as for the outcome of Saturday's curtain raiser, owt above a point will be a bonus as far as I'm concerned. ![]() Over to you Amelia & Snoots. ![]() RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Lord Snooty - 04-08-2016 Hey up, Mirf. You're right. We don't have enough people commenting on these match threads. Unlike the Wendies forum which gets loads of them. Never mind eh. RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - EastLondonTerrier - 05-08-2016 This forum has gone suspiciously quiet over the summer. Positivity kills the cat? RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - jjamez - 05-08-2016 Think its just a post season lull. England did you know... town signed all the players early and tbf they are all largely unknown quantities and friendlies are just that. Be interesting to see how we fair tomorrow and what lineup dw goes with. Theres going to be some good players not even getting on the bench. I'm also expecting to see jake charles and pyke involved in the match day squad, neither went to Guernsey, although i wouldnt expect them on the bench. Might be a few changes on tuesday for the league cup. As for the forum holidays etc and no real football season plus the bad end last season, a start this year should give a few things to discuss....as would a poor start. .. RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - WakeyTerrier - 05-08-2016 We definitely could do with more posters but we can't force them to join up and post. Having said all that the posters we do have all give a balanced and well thought out views about Town which I always read and respect unlike one Town forum I Could mention. Come and post a bit more often Mirf, it doesn't have to be everyday just have your opinion on the match article before and after, we'd all like to read your thoughts on the game. As for Saturday, it's looking increasingly likely that the TIckets Sold figure will be near 18000 which from a club point of view is fantastic...just imagine the sponsors delight as well. My predicted line up Ward Smith, Hudson, Schindler, Löewe Hogg,Mooy Scannell,Payne,Van Le Parra Kachunga RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - SHEP_HTAFC - 05-08-2016 That predicted line up is almost what I would have Wakey.....although would probably replace Hudson with the Heff. I've seen the pre season games (some were only highlights) with Liverpool, FC Inglostadt, and Werder Bremen......without a doubt Mooy has impressed me the most. Wow what a player he could be. And the defence looks tight and solid for the first time since God was a boy. Mirf, you need to post more. We know your rather chequered history regarding posts, but you were always a good read and thought outside the box. Hope you post more. RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - WakeyTerrier - 05-08-2016 I'd probably replace Hudson as well, but that's the team I think Wagner will pick. Only time will tell RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Mirf - 05-08-2016 I agree with Wakey because Hudson is well past his sell by date as a Championship player and he would never feature in my starting eleven. I was also glad that QPR took Lynch off our hands, since him and Hudson were part of last seasons poor defence which leaked 70 goals, many as a direct result of their poor defending. As for Brentford, we've met them 28 times at home since 1935 in various league action and we have only managed 11 victories against their 9, so as I said earlier, I'll more than settle for a point tomorrow, although all 3 would be very welcome. ![]() Btw. Wakey, whatever happened to your old sparring partners "JK Boots" & "Town Cryer"?. ![]() RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - theo_luddite - 05-08-2016 Get thi sen darn for a couple of match threads Mirf. As ELT has said, we've had nowt to myther about this Summer, but you knocked the first one in of the season afore we've kicked a ball in anger. Who knows, you might get Boots and a dozen others to comment, but as The TC is persona non grata on most Town forums I doubt he'll be throwing his two penn'orth in. RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - WakeyTerrier - 06-08-2016 Haven heard from Boots for donkeys yearsand the last time I heard about TownCryer he was getting a couple of mentions n Reports from the Courts in the Wakey Express...but that's a story for another day |
