RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - sloppyattheback - 27-02-2016 Despite our possesion stats and wasting good chances, we were never fluent, our final ball was lacking, some very below par performances, Bunn just awful control, Matmour soft as shit, dives - Dempsey looks bright does some good stuff, drives forward but has little end product yet and make a wrong decision. I dont rate Davidson and why Husband was put on the bench dont know, can see that left back slot being one to fill in the summer. Slack defending by Bet Lynch allowed their player to hook it around him trying to shield it out for a goal kick, but managed to turn him get in a cross and the shot from Pringle hit the Aussie on the way in with Steer beaten, I felt at that point we might struggle to get back into it. Hogg injuried late on making a great tackle, I felt him and Deano alongside was a defensive move and without Billing for 2 more games not sure who he might draft in there alongside next game. Ipswich were nothing special but with 2-3 really good chances gone begging early on and following what was a poor performance on balance midweek at MK, not a great few days. Plenty for the team and staff to mull over and work on next week ahead of Derby. RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - theo_luddite - 27-02-2016 Apart from all that, we battered them. Well to be honest, basted them. Slowly after the first 20 mins RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - Lord Snooty - 28-02-2016 Once again Channel 5 have made it look like an even contest. ![]() I don't think anybody had a bad game today. Certainly not Bunn or Davidson. Yes Lynch made a mistake, but what defender doesn't make errors? He prevents more goals than he gives away. Wells has taken some flack for poor finishing. Fair enough, but his all round play has improved no end since Wagner arrived. Once we start burying more of these chances, we well piss this league. RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - jjamez - 28-02-2016 Am i a curse? RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - theo_luddite - 28-02-2016 Just one of those months jjamez - we all have them. (We've been cursing you on the quiet tho' ![]() RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - JUSTASILLYOLDGIT - 28-02-2016 Watched Sky highlights and have to say........"Can't believe those missed chances!" With a frail defence like ours you have to stick them away. Even with a sound defence, you have to put at least one in the net for gods sake! It's a bit sweet and sour, in that the chances are being created, which is sweet, but............. ![]() RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - theo_luddite - 28-02-2016 RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - jjamez - 28-02-2016 (28-02-2016, 12:49)theo_luddite Wrote: Just one of those months jjamez - we all have them. Thought i heard something! RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - WakeyTerrier - 29-02-2016 On the one hand I still can't believe we lost that game 67%possesion v 33% 22shots v 6 5shots on target v 1 4corners v 1 How on earth did we not win that? On the other hand, I can believe we didn't win it it because we are nowhere near clinical enough. RE: Town v Ipswich match thread - jjamez - 29-02-2016 I'd rather see us have 22 shots and lose as you can come away thinking that its all a matter of time and can pick out the errors. I'd rather that than at the start of the season where we were playing poor and having a handful of shots ie 2/3 and losing 1-0 because as a fan you dont know when the next goal is coming plus the football on show was crap. Could you imagine ipswich from saturday v powell from earlier in the season say the powell game against mk dons (yes we won but i slept better in the stand than i have done for a long while in the bed) It would have been like supping hot tar whilst stroking a porcupine |
