RE: WBA vs Everton - Match Thread - Baggie_One - 12-09-2014 Good team that......however, will AI have the balls to actually pick it http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/2014/09/12/blog-its-time-for-west-brom-to-gel-together/ RE: WBA vs Everton - Match Thread - Kookiebags - 12-09-2014 Morning All, IMO, this game is all down to the formation and attitude to this result. If we go out negative, and try not to lose, we will lose. iF WE SET UP TO ATTACK, AND KEEP ATTACKING, WE WILL WIN. I would like to see a starting line up of: Foster GMac Lescott Olly Blanco Gardner Mulumbu Pocognolli Sess Ideye Berahino Subs Myhill Wisdom Brunt Morrison Samaras Anechebe O,Neil. 3 at the back, with wing backs and DM to cover in defence, but 5 in Mid to stifle their 5 man mid when needed. We will ONLY have to worry about Lukaku as their only out and out striker, so a back four not necessary IMO. With subs we can change it if need be. Anyway, we will sneak it 2 - 1 in a close, hard fought game. It won't be pretty, but expect us to come through this with our first win. Cheers, Kookiebags. RE: WBA vs Everton - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 12-09-2014 I wouldn't use Blanco as a wing-back. A wing-back has to be someone who can play as a full back, both in an attacking and defensive sense. Someone like Blanco cannot do that because he is only good in an attacking sense. The same can be said about Sessegnon and Varela who you also wouldn't use as wing-backs. Gamboa and Pocognoli or Davidson are the perfect choices if we want to ever use wing-backs. Blanco is at his best when playing in a 4-2-3-1 either in a central attacking position behind the striker, or out wide with the freedom to come into central positions and link up with the other attacking players. My team for Everton: ![]() Yacob for Mulumbu if he is unfit to play. RE: WBA vs Everton - Match Thread - Kookiebags - 12-09-2014 Afternoon All, Josh, Drewks, see your point regarding Gamboa, but , and it is only my opinion, Blanco can be an extra forward, who can track back, and with a back 3 to move either left or right to cover, and Poco being a proper wing back, as well as Mulu and Gardner to help, I do not feel we would be over run at the back, but we certainly need to score goals, as Chelsea nedded to Score 6 to really see this Everton side off, who are weak at the back if run at, and we aint no Chelsea. Cheers, Kookiebags. RE: WBA vs Everton - Match Thread - Salopbaggie - 12-09-2014 Totally agree with to need to attack, attack being the best form of defence. I have never quite understood why under various managers we are dominating games, go a goal or two up and then we sit back deep and invite trouble, instead of keep doing what was working ![]() We can not afford to keep drawing like last year, I know how early it is in the season and I am a long way off worrying yet but the evidence is in in the table we have lost 1 out of 3 and are in the relegation zone, that said if Swansea was a win instead of a loss and we would be in 8th place. I am sure though when all the lads get fit and start to gel we are going to see some exciting and surprising games. COYB RE: WBA vs Everton - Match Thread - SomersetBaggie - 13-09-2014 Not expecting too many team changes, but would like Foster Gamboa Lescott GMac Pocognolli Gardner Mulumbu Blanco Sess Barahino Bobby With Blanco and Sess playing wide but cutting inside, both Saido and Bobby upfront as I do not think lone striker suits Bobby. He just needs the right players around him to excel. Get 3 out of Berahino, Sessegnon, Varela and Blanco supporting him in the 4-2-3-1 and we will see the best of him. I also think Sess is wasted out wide as his impact on the game decreases.
