RE: The Throstles for sale? - GlassEyedBomber - 21-04-2015 He's already spent some of the prospective cash on a hair implant it seems! ![]() RE: The Throstles for sale? - Stairs - 21-04-2015 Looks like we will miss out on this. Not convinced being owned by a consortium from China is a good thing. Especially if investing in players to refresh the squad is a worry to them - good luck Villa, you could become the next Brum (as said above) RE: The Throstles for sale? - Worldclassalbion - 21-04-2015 I hope we do miss out because if they want Villa in the first place let them have it because the Claret and Blue or the blue and white stripes will become Light Red and dark Red stripes and no doubt a possible name change. RE: The Throstles for sale? - drewks - 21-04-2015 Yup - far from being excited about a rich benefactor, I'm worried. The only positive here for me is STILL JP - as he's actually a fan, I can't see him selling unless he's convinced it'll be good for the club.....or would the huge amounts of money cloud his judgement? Given the choice I'd much rather 'suffer' the limtations of JP's ownership and enjoy punching above our weight in the PL. ![]() RE: The Throstles for sale? - Tom_Wba - 21-04-2015 I'd be worried about a Chinese consortium buying West Brom Best of luck to Birmingham Villa FC playing at the Huawei Stadium ![]() RE: The Throstles for sale? - silverbaggie - 21-04-2015 They'll probably do away with the half time pie and chips and offer Egg Foo Yung instead. ![]() RE: The Throstles for sale? - Slick_Footwork - 21-04-2015 It's all paper talk about negotiations, this was a done deal months ago based on us staying up. The leek to the press about wanting a 'quick sale' was just to prep for the fact that they'll be dotting the I's and crossing the T's when the deal is done. No idea who the buyer is, but in this day and age the majority of Premier League teams are foreign owned, so just have to take it on the chin. I've never been a big fan of JP anyway, he's a good business man but that's much more influenced by lining his own pockets than anything else (which admittedly, keeps us in profit). Although, I'll admit, that is better than some scenarios of overspending at other clubs. John Trewick I think it was who after seeing the Great Wall was heard to say "Once you've seen one wall you've seen them all"! That probably sold the club to the Chinese even then RE: The Throstles for sale? - Onetruebaggie - 21-04-2015 On a side note, I was down the shrine for the last 2 matches and noticed demolition work around the old throstle's pub, I know the main building is listed hence it remaining! Any ideas what's happening there in the future? Ground expansion/new improved pub/lock up for Peace's millions once sold ![]() COYB |
