Sneaking off early to this one tomorrow too, always enjoy the venue, good pubs n places to grab some fodder beforehand, street parking if you're lucky close by.
Cant see us doing much but travelled with similar fears already this season and was pleasantly suprised at both Reading & Wolves, so here's hoping a few home truths from CP today has done its trick while the squad jump around in the baby pool 'recovering' - why they just didnt book into a sleazy flea pit of a hotel in Soho all weekend is beyond me than death by coach trip up and back.
I too went to that early 1980's game Snoots, remember the Hecky bus doing its usual meet & greet in the home end at ko and Rob Johnson trying his best to blend in with their 20 skinhead boot boys in the stand to our right, the same 20 that chased me and my 2 mates back to Acton tube station afterwards, possibly my first venture to the big city with Town, natural survivor me !
I was impressed with Brentford at ours when we held on to win and not suprised they've pretty much kept the momentum going, would be good for the Championship to see them in the play offs at least and 2 fingers to their chairman from MarkmWarburton who seems a decent manager too.
Think they'll just be too slick for us, similar to Charlton and we'll look M1 fatigue leggy and might be ultimately a 4-1 thumping, alternatively we score a deflection on 13mins and hang on for dear life, I stay too long celebrating at full time and queue for an hour to get out the sides streets back onto the M4.

Moneyball only took the As so far, though. When the chips were down, winning 103 games didn't matter a (Billy) bean, they still never won the big one.
Team News For The Game
Brentford defender Jake Bidwell is available for Mark Warburton's side after serving a three-match suspension. Midfielders Alan Judge (knee) and Alan McCormack (ankle) could return to the line up after coming off the bench in the 1-0 defeat at Birmingham. Huddersfield striker Nahki Wells is unlikely to feature as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury. Defender Joel Lynch (groin) remains sidelined despite returning to first team training this week.
If anyone listens to the Beesotted podcast (I do from time to time), it seems popular opinion that Bidwell should have played on Saturday, so I don't know how much to read into that.
As for the managerial situation, I read that Sean Ingle article on the day it was in the Grauniad and it makes for very interesting reading - the Danish side he's got shares in are doing well and there's no reason that style of running a club shouldn't work in England; the problem being that in order to get it working fully, he'll likely have to recruit from outside which will mean choosing people without such an in-depth knowledge of the English game. He's certainly working very well for them just yet.
As for Mark Warburton, he can't lose. In the summer, he'll leave Brentford with his stock as high as it will likely ever be - if he chooses his next job wisely, he's proven he can be a success.

True the A's never won a big one Marco, but they got into the play-off's far more often than any other team with their budget would have done. Don't come moaning if Brentford keep getting in the play-off's and we don't on a similar budget.

If Brentford keep getting in the playoffs they, too, will have failed. Mind you, provided Town stay up, I'll have a nice day out every year, and that's alright by me.
(As a Cubs fan, I know all about squandering huge budgets on a big bag of shit year after year after year after year, after year after year after year, like so many paper beer cups).

Intriguing half. Brentford had the better of it, but looked less and less dangerous as it went on. Town were largely counterattack but with Bunn and Vaughan, generally supplied by Butterfield. I didn't (honestly) realise Scannell was playing until 20 minutes in.

Wow. 2 tonkings in the space of 4 days. Saw the score at 1-1 at half time and genuinely thought we would get something. Oh how wrong I was. Defence has now leaked 7 goals in two games. Simply not good enough. Badly need Joel Lynch back it seems. Who would have thought wed be saying that at the start of this season
