Well a win's a win, even though our lads will be most disappointed at giving a couple of goals away. The Newcastle lads will have the consolation of scoring probably the best goal of the game, but they made too many mistakes, especially just after half time, when some of them looked like they'd had a little snooze at the break and weren't quite awake yet.

I haven't checked yet, but I reckon 6-2 is a club record victory for this competition. The best I can remember was the 4-1 win against Carlisle in the Northern Final 1st leg in 1994.

1,280 attendance. Lowest at the new stadium for a first team fixture.

Probably had one of them switched off like against Donny.

Easy victory in the end but it felt like it was more about minutes and confidence for some players
