RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - Lord Snooty - 18-04-2025 Here we go again. Balker off, crocked. What dull 45 mins that was. 65 mins. Actual shot on target from the Ruffalo Kid. RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - Lord Snooty - 18-04-2025 BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - jjamez - 18-04-2025 Absolute shambles. Players apparently hate the fans because they hate them. Well, here's a little hint, work hard and try and the fans will respect and give you credit. Hide and shirk everything and fans will get on your back. I'm looking at you Ben wiles you little weasel. RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - theo_luddite - 18-04-2025 Once again we Failed to beat a team in the relegation zone Failed to get a shot off worth the name for over an hour Failed to pick up players on the edge of our box Failed to string decent passes together Failed to find our own players with crosses into the box Failed to give decent passes to players stood 10 - 20 yards away or control it if we did Failed to take advantage of other clubs around us not winning Once again we FAILED RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - Lord Snooty - 18-04-2025 Failed! Miserably! Aaand......He's gone! https://www.htafc.com/news/2025/april/18/club-statement--mark-cartwright/ Huddersfield Town can confirm that Mark Cartwright has today been relieved of his duties as Sporting Director. Having joined the Club in July 2023, Cartwright has been with Town for two seasons, leading our sporting endeavours at Canalside and overseeing all footballing activity. Huddersfield Town CEO Jake Edwards commented: “Undergoing a full review of our sporting operations ahead of another important summer for the Club, we have made the difficult decision to relieve Mark of his duties with immediate effect. “Retaining the full support of the Chairman, our collective efforts will be focussed on completing a positive summer of activity both on and off the field, allowing us to head into the 2025/26 season with a renewed belief and confidence in all departments. “On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to thank Mark for his efforts during his time at Huddersfield Town and wish him the very best for the future.” RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - theo_luddite - 18-04-2025 One glimmer of hope out of a week, nay, a season of disappointment He should never have been here in the first place. He was incompetent at Stoke, He's driven folk that were more competent than him out of the club. I pity the club or company that offers him his next job if it's in any kind of management position. Too late now for that play-off push but at least he won't get to say who leaves, who stays and who the next manager/head coach might be, or which players he/we bring in. RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - Lord Snooty - 18-04-2025 The thing now is.... I don't trust Nagle and Edwards to make the right appointment either. ![]() ![]() ![]() And whoever does get the job...... Good luck with trying to persuade players to come to a club where the fans are so toxic to the players. Ben Wiles has (allegedly) said that the team hate the fans because the fans hate the players. RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - Amelia Chaffinch - 18-04-2025 Well, if they paid us to watch them, I might accept they have a say. RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - theo_luddite - 18-04-2025 If only they made the two hour drive, which has been nearer to 3 hours for the last three games, to watch them for 90+ minutes a more enjoyable watch? ..... I don't hate them, I don't boo them, but I've watched enough (and played Sunday League basement level in my yoof) football for well over 50 years to know who's a decent footballer and who's not and whether a decent footballer is putting a shift in or not. I'll let Mr. Wiles decide which category he thinks he fits in this season. Promotion or at least the play-offs were the least thse players should have delivered and he wonders why the fans are pissed off with them? Gi' yer head a shake man. RE: Cambridge at home on Good Friday - WakeyTerrier - 18-04-2025 Text my mate at 14.50 today, I’ll spare you the swear words but it basically said the stands were empty and you could walk straight to the front of the bar to get food and drink. I said don’t blame anyone for not coming and that I actually hoped we’d lose today so the cull could start. The cull has started. I got out of my seat 4 times today. First time was to go to the gents, second time to stretch my legs at half time as the leg room on the back row is very cramped. The third time to applaud Kachunga off the pitch and fourth time to leave on 80minutes. Our players must’ve watched Kachunga go off to a standing ovation and thought what has he done to deserve that when we get pelters. Well the lad gave 100% every time he played for us despite not being the best footballer in the world whereas that shower that play for us now don’t. You can fool someone once but you can’t fool everyone all of the time. Highlight of the game, the Town fan that went to the bench after 0-1 to tell the bench what he thought, surprise surprise, they all hid in the bench instead of facing up to him….until he got escorted out and then they all came out again….gutless bunch of merchant bankers |
