Nagle wants to take things in a different direction. Apparently. RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - Amelia Chaffinch - 09-02-2025 It's about time. Neanderthal. RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - jjamez - 09-02-2025 Well that was truly drab affair, they were there for the taking. Our final third play is diabolical. We tried upping the tempo from our usual pedestrian pace or so it seemed, but it felt like we went too far the other way and rushing. It's quite a simple theory, look at the first season under lee Clark, when we did it almost perfectly, it's essentially direct football, not route one, two very different things. Zip the ball around, switch the play, get defenders turning (not ours) and men in behind. Brum dismantled us the other game with it. Get defenders facing their own goal and they panic, doesn't matter whether it's premier league or Sunday league. As for the players, how Cartwright still has a job is beyond me. I know some fans say it willy nilly, but I honestly think I could have put together a far better squad with the money he's had to spend. But I guess I have a certain style of football that I like and would have been formulating for that. I'll put this here ahead of the posh game that's upcoming. Ricky jade Jones should have been out number 1 target in summer. Our defenders will see why. He should have scored at their spot and from memory he beat helik in the air and beat Spencer in a foot race to the flick on... On Ramsden, whenever I've met him I've found him rude and ignorant, maybe he's a touch deaf or had had a touch too much to drink at the time but can only go on that RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - Lord Snooty - 09-02-2025 They're saying Rambo said some offensive stuff at the opening of the new bar. Whether that was the final straw, I don't know. He has toned it down in the stadium but he should've been gone years ago tbh. RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - Amelia Chaffinch - 09-02-2025 I'm glad someone's had the bottle to do it. It doesn't take a genius to work out there are a number of ...phobics you can describe him as. His sort should have died out by the end of the 70s / 80s. And that lot who are supporting him on DATM should themselves wither into extinction. RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - theo_luddite - 09-02-2025 Well, it was a bit better to watch than the recents, but as I said a few weeks back and jjamez has more or less said above, it's no good having blokes that know where the onion bag if the guys providing the ammo can't get it to them or past the defenses first man. Always thought Rambo learned his stuff at the Bernard Manning School of Comedy to be honest. RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - Lord Snooty - 09-02-2025 Strange that whenever I see Mark Carthoss I get that 70s club comedian vibe. RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - Lord Snooty - 09-02-2025 Anyway, back to the football. I was disappointed to see Nicholls back in for Chapman. The lad has done no wrong and should've kept his place. Nicholls slowed play down at every opportunity. His distribution is poor. Chapman was much better at getting us underway again. And then bizarrely, he was in second place in the man of the match vote. Didn't have one save to make. I understand Duff's reasoning behind the selection, but don't agree. RE: Terriers v The Club They Can't Sell - 08-Feb-2025 - Lord Snooty - 09-02-2025 That's four consecutive home games without a goal. I think that could be a club record. There isn't a sequence for that category on the club statistics page on Wikipedia. There is a sequence of seven league games without scoring in 1972, which is 3 home and 4 away, so I reckon this must be a record. I shall investigate further. Well that didn't take long. The answer is 1971/72. And it's six. So no club record yet. Peterborough, Wrexham and Crawley coming along to try and write their names in Huddersfield Town records. |
