Thanks for doing the League. For some reason I want to get ahead of Dancing. I think it is because he is taller than me. It's the first time I've gone down with Small Man Syndrome! As long as it's height you're referring to. I take size 14 shoes as well but I don't think anyone will be envious of that. Question is will I make it into the New Year still top of the prediction league? I've never known such lofty heights at Christmas time. Don't think it will last so no need to worry. RE: Chesterfield Prediction League Matchday 22 - Devongone - 28-12-2024 OMG you should have been a swimming champion with those flippers. I'm 6'3" and only take size 10. RE: Chesterfield Prediction League Matchday 22 - Dancingwilldoit - 28-12-2024 I was a 12 well into my 40s. They just started to grow again either that or the weight of the rest of my body just squashed them out more which is probably more likely. I was very fast at front crawl or freestyle but only over a length. I could do that without taking a breath then the rot set in. I just couldn't get the breathing right and ended up with half the pool in my lungs. RE: Chesterfield Prediction League Matchday 22 - Devongone - 29-12-2024 Our opening bowler for the final cricket team I played for had either size 13 or 14 feet and struggled to get cricket boots to fit ...... Anyway when his front foot landed when bowling he sort of rotated it a bit ...... and if the going was a bit rain-softened he would very quickly create a deep hole ..... which of course any future bowler at that end really did not appreciate. I think breathing is a real problem for really top sprint crawl swimmers. Top 50metre sprinters just don't breathe during the race, but that's only 22 seconds or quicker, at 100 you've got to do a turn and if you are holding your breath it is still under 50 seconds. A longer race like the 200 necessitates breathing and ideally you want to breath turning your head to the side where your main opposition is swimming. I'd never have got that right. I never learned to do the Butterfly. I found every time I just dolphined my way to the bottom of the pool. I think my weight may be increasing the size of my feet. I used to be barely a 10, now another half might be nearer the truth. And why do our ears have to keep growing?
