When Dobras on form he's Championship level. But when he's not he wouldn't make the Matlock team. Am glad he's found his form again but it's been a long time coming. Maybe not starting a couple of games woke him up.

I think consistency doesn't really fit with the way Dobra plays. He only has to be slightly off his game to look like a no-hoper. It isn't that he doesn't want to give his best all the time. But he doesn't shirk from the difficult stuff. Playing it safe and passing it square aren't high on his agenda. I can see how anyone can become frustrated with him when the good stuff isn't happening, but I've seen Messi have loads of anonymous games with Argentina and Mbappe was sometimes invisible at PSG ..... so why should we expect something of a lower-level talent like Dobra that the great names can't guarantee?
When he and Markanday are both on going days they do give us something that none of our rivals possess. My hope is that Drummond and Berry too possess the talent to perform at a level above our current standing. But even Zidane needed his water-carrier ............ We do need the workers to work consistently. Special talents illuminate the game and sometimes will win it, but they can't regularly do it alone.
