He brought precious little to the captain's table by way of cajoling and encouraging other players. Lescott wouldn't have been bothered. He knows the workings of how big clubs and good man managers appoint a captain, and there's nothing stopping him being 'captain' of the back four - he effectively is. Agree with that just wondering how he would have felt (I feel like a woman having typed that) RE: Captain - BaggieMan - 16-02-2015 Brunt was a poor choice of captain IMO. He's always moaning, drops his head and seemed fail to cajole or motivate his team-mates. In the old pre Lescott/Fletcher days, I would have preferred to see Olsson as captain given his passion. Now either Fletcher or Lescott would be ideal and both certainly encourage and motivate and Fletch it is. I'm sure that the meeting that TP called with the senior players would've explained why this was happening, and their own roles within the team/squad/club. From what I gather TP is a very astute man manager and so would've made these players feel that they ALL had more of a role, if anything |
