RE: WBA vs Norwich & Sunderland - Match Thread - Slick_Footwork - 27-11-2024 On a positive note, whoever scouted Torbjorn Heggem needs a bonus. The lad can pass with both feet. Quick. Times his tackles. Great positioning. If he could just chip in with a few headed goals, he would be the complete centre half. Another excellent performance from him. Had we not managed to sign him in the summer, I fear we might be closer to the bottom than the top of the league. Definitely, I think he’s been outstanding. I’d also give a shout out to Karlan Grant who I felt tried really hard and, along with Tom Fellows, provided the very few attacking ideas tonight. I know we seem to say this every game now but a win at Preston is becoming even more essential. If we don’t I feel we could be sitting 8th or 9th coming Saturday evening RE: WBA vs Norwich & Sunderland - Match Thread - Blue Baggie - 27-11-2024 On reflection a point away from the side top of the league is fine. I would have settled for that before a ball was kicked. One thing is for sure we are definitely hard to beat. Slipped out of the top six as is expected. Carlos will need some more attacking quality in the next window if we're to become more positive and turn draws into wins. RE: WBA vs Norwich & Sunderland - Match Thread - Borders Baggie - 27-11-2024 Was at last nights match, and was a disappointing performance following on from some pleasing attacking play against Norwich on Saturday. The centre half situation isn’t ideal and Diakite pulling up in the warm up meaning Bartley started. He obviously isn’t match fit but looked solid in the first half. Heggem has been a massive plus this season for sure and he is a steady player. Mikey Johnston offering absolutely nothing at the moment. I had my reservations about him having watched him on tv for Celtic but fair play, he played well on loan last year. This season, an empty jersey. One trick pony and teams are wise to it now. Karlan Grant offered much more when he was playing on the left. A good point all things considered but that’s 9 draws in 17 matches, that could end up costing a play off place if the team can’t edge a few extra wins. |
