RE: Town away at Bristol City - Lord Snooty - 13-04-2024 I hate football RE: Town away at Bristol City - ritchiebaby - 13-04-2024 You'll enjoy watching Town, then. ![]() RE: Town away at Bristol City - Lord Snooty - 13-04-2024 Stevenage awaaaaaay Stevenage awaaaaaay RE: Town away at Bristol City - Baggiebob(BBB) - 13-04-2024 Now that was harsh on the 99th minute... I hate this xtra system.. I must prefer the rugby way of stopping the clock, and the hooter on 90 minutes. How often do you see 6 added mintes and 7/8/9 minutes are played - its ludicrous.. Any suggestions how you would improve this crazy way RE: Town away at Bristol City - Lord Snooty - 13-04-2024 Right, I've calmed down a bit now. First of all, Andre is far, far too cautious. The team line up was far too defensive for a game we had to win at all costs. None of Ward, Healey or Bojangles in the starting line up. He was once more, far, far too late in making any attacking substitutions. He makes one in the 80th minute and hey presto, we score a minute later. But then, instead of consolidating by bringing another striker on, he goes full Darren Moore and starts bringing defenders on. Headley for Koroma, who'd just scored, and in injury time Turton for Thomas. Turton, who hasn't played for 14 months. Not the time or the place when you're defending a one goal lead. Now I'm not having a go at young Ollie. It was a good block, but his arm was up. Yes, it was a poor decision by a poor referee (aren't they all?), but if we had VAR, there's no way they would overturn it. It's hit his arm. It's in a natural position, but it's never getting changed. My point is that Turton should never have been on in the first place. Get Ward on. Get the ball up the other end and into the corner flag. And don't take Thomas off. Get it up front. Hold it. This time last season, we were expert shithousers. This season we are shit shithousers. Darren Moore finally got the push for not seeing out the win at QPR. This is the exact same situation. Bad game management. And yes, I would've said this if we'd won. Which of course we would've done if the ref had played the correct amount of time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (13-04-2024, 19:47)Baggiebob(BBB) Wrote: Now that was harsh on the 99th minute... Waste time by holding the ball. Take it to the corner flag, but don't roll about on the floor pretending to be injured. The more the ball's in play, the sooner the ref blows up. ![]() RE: Town away at Bristol City - themaclad - 13-04-2024 Congratulations you've been Rebecca'd at least you don't have a 18 hour round trip Tuesday night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RE: Town away at Bristol City - Lord Snooty - 13-04-2024 From a Brizzle fan on the BBC site...... Quote:And they will blame the entire season on today’s result, which as I keep saying was a fair result! Can't argue with that. It's all on our own shoulders. We can blame the ref all we want, but it's piss poor game management, giving them extra time to score. Stop feigning injury. Get the game finished off. ![]() RE: Town away at Bristol City - Lord Snooty - 14-04-2024 Having now watched the highlights, we looked to have played really well and would've deserved that win. Created loads of chances, but unfortunately for most of the match, our fox in the box was sat on the sidelines. Healey, I'm talking about Healey. ![]() He's a goal poacher. Knows how to get in the right positions and hopefully will be the reason we get back up again next season. Give him some game time, Andre. ![]() RE: Town away at Bristol City - WakeyTerrier - 14-04-2024 Yesterday was a kick in the nuts. Was it a penalty, probably not but the ref gets one chance to see these things. As has been said the game management needs to be better. A prime example is the 86th minute and we have a corner, we lump it into the box and it comes to nothing. Surely we should be taking that short and winding the clock down Why did we have so much added time, the Bristol commentary called after 92 minutes saying it would be 8 or 9 due to an injured player getting treatment and Town making a sub. I have no complaints about that. Anyway, yesterday was never going to decide our fate but the next 2 home games could well do. We need to match or better whatever Birmingham do next weekend and then we need to beat them at home the week after. That is where we are at. I’ve not forgotten about Wednesday either , they are snapping at our heels. I just say Birmingham because they are currently the team above the dotted line RE: Town away at Bristol City - Baggiebob(BBB) - 14-04-2024 I would like you gys to win the next two games, I woldn't want you in the lower division - you'll spend years in there.. Note:: for Lord Snooty. I'd also hate predicting in that league.. haha |
