RE: FA Cup Mauling - Lord Snooty - 07-01-2024 Positives? Managed to avoid Man City becoming our record FA Cup defeat as well, by not beating our 6-0 defeat at Sunderland in 1950. We avoided having a replay, an extra match we don't really need. New lads looked alright. RE: FA Cup Mauling - theo_luddite - 07-01-2024 Just watched the erm, highlights. Had Thomas taken his chance he'd have made me 2 points happier in the prediction league. RE: FA Cup Mauling - SHEP_HTAFC - 08-01-2024 Overall it was a mauling.....we hardly created anything and looked awful in possession. On the plus side, was impressed with Brodie Spencer, Matos, and the overall defensive shape of the team. Yes I know it was 5-0....but if we played that way against most other teams it would be a lot more competitive. On the negative side not impressed with Wiles....to get out paced by Kovacic who is double his age was a tad embarrassing. RE: FA Cup Mauling - theo_luddite - 08-01-2024 5) sneezy titch - I've tried solving this for over an hour and I've decided it's the worst anagram of either Denis Law or Francis Lee ever. RE: FA Cup Mauling - theo_luddite - 08-01-2024 Well, getting mauled in Manchester means we've avoided another mauling in London at the end of the month .... hopefully. ![]() RE: FA Cup Mauling - Lord Snooty - 08-01-2024 (08-01-2024, 18:30)theo_luddite Wrote: 5) sneezy titch - I've tried solving this for over an hour and I've decided it's the worst anagram of either Denis Law or Francis Lee ever. Quote:From Wikipedia: RE: FA Cup Mauling - theo_luddite - 09-01-2024 I'll stick with Denis Law RE: FA Cup Mauling - WakeyTerrier - 10-01-2024 I thought we did ok RE: FA Cup Mauling - jjamez - 10-01-2024 We did better than when we lost 6-1 in the prem! Bojan looks like he will be a good option up top, even though it was one shot, it's how he made room to get it away. Id feel more confident with him up top and in front of goal than the majority of our other attacking players! Spencer for a young lad, still a bit naive but that loan to Scotland has done him some good RE: FA Cup Mauling - theo_luddite - 10-01-2024 Well, we had to keep him (Spencer) once we called him back as he'd played for us v Boro in the EFL Cup. You can only play for 2 teams in a season so we can't send him out again, except maybe to someone around National League North/South standard or lower and what would be the point of that when we could have left him up north? |
