I think if Pato smith and Gregory play Pato in midfield we will be Solid should Dennis turn up again ..my only fear is he picks effing iorfa in defence ..sick to death of the twat coming in and out and dropping bollocks everytime !!! He has to go in the summer it's just not good enough ...we have 15 not 11 out of contract players in the summer not including Bannan who's going nowhere with a triggered Claus for sure ...which ever league we find ourselfs in it's going to be a slow start full of excuses even if we keep 7 off the existing shite !!!

Some championship team will buy Byers if/when we don't go up and we won't have a sell on clause either Doh

Most of them aren't professional enough to do the job for their current employer either, knowing they won't be here next season.
Despite that, as players the idea of a title under their belt isn't motivation enough!?

So many shit footballers just in it for the money these days, more than ever before.

Absolutely cannot afford any more bottles.
I'm dreading Derby on the final day.

It is complete madness when trying to.move forward and nobody gives a shite what happens in 5 games time ... This is chansiri once again way out off his depth !!!!

The worst thing is he's done this before and it did us a world of good didn't it !!

The genius that is DM put full faith in this lot.
He didn't think we needed to be more active in the transfer market.
That mentality already has already cost us what could've and should've been a clear lead.
It remains to be seen whether it's another compounding issue that costs promotion.

Moore needs to realise it's not just those players that will be expected to leave in 5 games times if he fails, again.

Chansiri hasn't learnt anything either. The same situations continue to arise at the Club years down the line.
No wonder these minnow Clubs continue to surpass us.
It's a matter of long term goals, solid management and planning.
None of which we seem capable of.

Right, nearly time for Plymouth's game.
Fingers crossed they bottle it!

Disagree with this. Let's start with the fact we were not going to actually spend any money on transfer fees, that makes a January window difficult due to contacts running from July to June. Secondly he stated over and over again that he would only sign players who improved the team, he didn't want to sign secondary players, we have enough of them already. He did replace the one loss by bringing in Flint to replace McGuiness.

At the time we had 5 strikers, so didn't need anymore, we had 5 CHs or at least players who could play there, and we were alternating Vaulkes and Byers, so had cover in the middle. The change that saw a midfield 3 of Byers, Vaulkes and Bannan on a consistent basis made the cover thin but we all expected players such as Dele-Bashiru, Adeniran and Bakinson to keep improving and step up when needed, but that hasn't gone as planned for whatever reason.

On the subject of out of contract players, they need to perform to get a new contract either with us or someone else, they are professionals, they will not take it easy just because they are out of contract. Having that many players OOC for me is a good thing, if we get promoted we will need a number of better signings, and if we don't we will need to freshen up the squad as we did two seasons ago.

In DM's opinion there were no appropriate improvements available, what if he was wrong?
It's not as if he's consistently correct.

You do make fair points though, financially.
I can't agree about some of these players being professional enough. They've shown through their work ethic where they stand.
Fizz has been a massive disappointment after so much promise earlier in the season.
Once he didn't like the tabled offer his performances dipped big time.
Johnson only gives it when he feels like it too.
Iorfa... I can't even

Exeter having a strong half against Plymouth. Let's hope they don't get sucker punched. If and that's a big if Plymouth fall today it's very much in our hands again

Plymouth growing into the game more now. Good chance if a typical last minute goal by them.

Burton want to get a few more points to ensure they're not in the mix at the bottom so they won't be mugs today.

And there it is... Sigh. Absolute wankers

RE: Burton v The Owls L1 Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 15-04-2023

If he is wrong then like other managers it could cost him his job, but at the moment he has got it spot on, just!!

Fizz looked like a real prospect, how was anyone to know his form would drop? If in January we signed a player to be ahead of him there would have been uproar.

Plymouth score FFS!!!

RE: Burton v The Owls L1 Match Thread - Statesideowl - 15-04-2023

Pressure is back on now. We really need a win today to knock it back to Plymouth.
In regard to Fizz I was talking more about the lack of professionalism knowing he won't be here not that we should have signed anyone ahead of him.
