RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - Lord Snooty - 13-08-2022 Belting header from Yooooootaaaaaaa. Ref's a joke RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - theo_luddite - 13-08-2022 Well that was far more like it. I'll sign up for a few more team talks now ![]() RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - Lord Snooty - 13-08-2022 Must've been a small crowd. Home for just after six. Only usually leaving the Gas Works car park by that time. Official attendance 18,618. Yeah right. Those who didn't go, missed the best performance since probably Reading 12 months ago. The game could've gone either way, but we were well worth the win and they were relying heavily on the ref giving them everything in the first half. I haven't seen the replay, but how was that not a penalty to us, five minutes before they got theirs? Theirs was very reminiscent of the one West Brom got last season. The lad ducked into it. But I may change my mind when I see the replay. Matt Glennon did on the radio. Great save from England's number one, but we were a shade lucky that the follow up hit the post when he should've scored. As for Yuta's goal. Rising sun? Not half. Rising like a young Andy Booth to bullet train it into the net. No kamikaze defending in this game either. The one they got was a perfectly placed shot and if Nicholls had saved it, it would've been brilliant. But he didn't. Nowt you can do with them. And then we bring on impact sub, Duane Holmes. Great pressing to get the mistakes, could've had a hat trick himself. Just lost out on a 50/50 with the keeper, then provided assists for Wardy and Rhodesey when he could've been greedy and gone for them both himself. Nakayama got man of the match, but could've been Hogg, Turton or midfield dynamo Jack Rudoni. Nice to get the victory wave in at the end. I've missed it. ![]() Stat alert:- that was Jordan's 199th league goal. RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - Lord Snooty - 13-08-2022 Isn't social media quiet when we win. ![]() RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - theo_luddite - 14-08-2022 Post-match stuff on Radio Local and extended highlights Danny, Turton and Rhodes https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0csy0zz https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0csy21k https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0csy6cp RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - theo_luddite - 14-08-2022 (13-08-2022, 21:57)Lord Snooty Wrote: Isn't social media quiet when we win. Indeed Snoots, the bus I was on from Halifax (I park up at my bro's, then use the bus or train when they run, to shuttle me between refreshment stops) had a somewhat vocal young lady on it saying how she wouldn't be going or supporting Town again if we lost and played the same again as against PNE. Fickle bleedin' youth, hmph. Shortly afterwards, as the bus crawled over the summit of The (Mount) Ainleys, the engine coughed and died. Was it trying to tell her something? RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - theo_luddite - 14-08-2022 Manchester City - owned by Arabs, totally unaware of the need to reapply sunscreen and the possibility of skin cancer - clearly they didn't cop on to my original post did they? Hope they are keeping the huskies well fed and watered for winter and the World Cup. ![]() RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - Lord Snooty - 14-08-2022 Water? Only one bottle. Sunscreen? No chance. Flares? As many as you want. RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - theo_luddite - 14-08-2022 Especially if you stick one up your arse before you light it. RE: Toothless Terriers v The Smokies - WakeyTerrier - 15-08-2022 Morning all, much better on Saturday. For a starter we looked tighter all over the pitch, when stoke had possession we got back into formation and made it difficult for them to break us down. A game of fine margins though, and one that could have gone either way right up until the last 10minutes. Stoke unlucky to have one ruled out for offside but it probably was.. just, while Town scored one that looked offside at the time and even on replays looks offside but we got away with it |
