RE: Our Much Loved Owner - Salopbaggie - 14-07-2022 I don't know if many have heard this weeks E&S pod cast, but some interesting stiff on whether Lai is liable for the £5 million from the Peace loan. It was mentioned that all those that have been involved in the ongoing investigation into the loan have had to sign a NDA, but the lawyers conducting the investigation are suggesting Lai may not be liable for it, which in turn means Peace maybe. Nothing concrete so we shall have to see. Nothing concrete so we shall have to see. Interesting but - Lai previously said he would pay the loan, but was restricted because it was not possible to take cash out of China. He never mentioned it was not his responsibility to pay it. Now it's about turn. It's another reason I don't believe a word he says. The cash debt he owes is now £12 million. Goodness knows how much he has managed to syphon off from transfers and other dubious underhanded deals. Once a crook always a crook. Nothing concrete so we shall have to see. As I understand it Lai is under the impression he does owe it. It is the investigation into whether Peace acted correctly in obtaining the load, its use, and whether he could transfer the loan to Lai which is under investigation and pointing in the direction that Lai does not owe it. RE: Our Much Loved Owner - drewks - 18-08-2022 Just resurrected this thread as HE seems to be the one in the firing line just as much as Bruce. I'm no fan of the latter at all - in fact I despaired when he was appointed - but the bad boy at the very top is surely the worst. As has been said, with him still owner, there's only one direction we're going in. Bruce just ain't the type who will unearth the gems for nowt that we've had in the recent past, and does his 'big name' attract players anyway? He's had a reasonable window so far, to be fair, with no money - but his blinkered and baffling team selections & tactics (I'm being kind!) are keeping us treading water at best. |
