Not that I am saying anything iffy is going on, but...... I wonder if anyone has ever looked into the fact Keith Stroud was born in Bournemouth and before tonight he had refereed Bournemouth 12 times, surprisingly Bournemouth won 12 times, it does make the 3 minutes extra time in the first half, which became 4:40 and the 7 minutes at the end which became 8:20 when I don't think the physio even came on in the second half look a bit suspect.

If so, get onto The League. That's a disgrace. I thought birthplace/residence were taken into account when appointing Officials. Makes sense.

Re the ref, I made that point last year and suggested the Rugby stop the game style when injuries, people coming on etc. That way the 90 minutes are played fairly.
What's the betting we do a Birmingham bad play against Stoke the next game? Like we did after Fulham win.

Stroud was apparently born on the Isle of Wight and spent some time living in Bournemouth; it's a controversy that crops up whenever he refs one of their games (QPR fans kicked off about it at Christmas). However, it would seem he's declared himself as a Luton fan, which would presumably be why the FA/EFL see no conflict of interest. There was a longstanding consensus among Cherries fans, even prior to this season, that they generally "do alright" with Stroud in charge, though he pissed them off when he reffed them one time last autumn and gave all sorts of dodgy decisions against them, resulting in a five-page thread on their forum entitled That Prat Stroud. (They still won the match, ironically.)
Whether or not it's true about him being a Luton fan, I think coming from the south coast is reason enough for the powers-that-be to reconsider putting him in charge of Bournemouth games in future, and even their supporters accept that it's probably only a matter of time before that happens.

It's actually Bournemouth fans themselves who claim he's from the Isle of Wight and later moved to the town, so I'm working on the assumption they know stuff about his background that other websites don't. But either way, as I said in my previous post, I think that IOW origin alone (if true) should be enough to disqualify him from refereeing Cherries games.
