RE: League Cup QF: Dundee United v Hibs, Thurs 23 Sept, KO 7.45pm - HerefordBull - 23-09-2021 Unconvincing despite the 1.3 scoreline, with great help from the officials. One very soft penalty and an " offside" goal disallowed which was in fact OK and would have bought the score to 2.3 which would have made the last 20 even more squeeky bum time than it actually was!! Still again we must take the luck and move on to Hamdump and sevco where at present I can only see one winner. Well done for the result Hibs .........even if it doesn't do the heart any good watching most of it! Undoubtedly there is room for improvement in our concentration and application, but we are easily good enough to go on to win the competition. No more tentativeness and plenty of positivity required for the future. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/58630096/page/3 Heh hehhhhh!!! It is indeed 5 x successive semi-finals and the latest QF victory is a tidy 1-3 win in a match that was fortuitous for Hibs during certain moments of the game, BUT WE'LL TAKE IT BECAUSE WE'VE BEEN DONE BY REFS AND CERTAIN UNFAIR GAME-CHANGING MOMENTS IN THE PAST. Hibs "fast out of the traps" tonight and well done to Joe Newell with a good finish so early in the match and Hibs more or less finishing this match as a contest by half-time! ![]() Sevco next on the list and, as I've previously commented in the past, they don't like playing Hibs even though a lotta results have gone against us, some of them because of dreadful refereeing decisions btw!! GGTTH RE: League Cup QF: Dundee United v Hibs, Thurs 23 Sept, KO 7.45pm - HerefordBull - 24-09-2021 Did you see their goal against Motherwell last weekend 0762? This could be the sort of decision we will face. Similar to the Boyle disallowed goal we had on Saturday. However at least Boyle moved into the offside position and if he had left the ball it would have been OK as he wasn't hindering their keeper. Sevcos player was standing offside in front of the keeper, when the corner was taken and didn't move till the ball came at him to nod into the net.........and neither the officials or the tv pundits saw anything wrong and not a word about it till much later till it was pointed out to them! ![]() Anyway that's 2 that have gone for us ( Penalty against Livingston was soft along with , "I think" a foul on Main by Hanlon) so it is bound to change at sometime ..........in football you have to take the rough with the smooth........enjoy while we can. ![]() 'mon Hibs GGTTH RE: League Cup QF: Dundee United v Hibs, Thurs 23 Sept, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 24-09-2021 Great result. Excellent touch from newell for the opener which settled us down. But we did get a huge break with the pk and Utds disallowed goal. We sit deep a fair bit, presumably cos we are a threat on the break but i'm not sure we do the gritty part of defending well enough to win the trophy. I'm liking Scott Allans work at the moment very much. Sevco at Hamdump eh ? Brings back joyous memories of the Breadmans side being destroyed by Stokesy and SJM and the resulting mass murder of hun players afterward. Let's hope for a similar outcome. I did indeed watch that Rangers offside goal against M'well NH and aint it interesting that as soon as I saw that goal for the 1st time, my immediate response was "THAT'S OFFSIDE"!? And immediately wanting to see a video replay to confirm my suspicion - CONFIRMED OFFSIDE 100%! Also look at the perfect position, view unimpeded, of the AR who somehow decided to ignore the fact the Rangers lad was almost standing on the M'well goal line! I reckon this is the next ref fraternity conspiracy to try and help Rangers as much as poss to win a domestic cup as they have failed to do that for a decade. IMO that's what we are sadly up against!! |
