RE: Frank Worthington RIP - theo_luddite - 23-03-2021 Quiet lad really RE: Frank Worthington RIP - SHEP_HTAFC - 24-03-2021 Halifax lad like me also theo. Used to live next door to one of his many girlfriends back in the day. She told me a few stories about his young free and single days. Not for the faint hearted. I remember playing against one of his nephews in some West Riding U16 cup thingy. The lad tore a strip out of me. Best player on the pitch by miles. Some cracking footballing family he came from. RE: Frank Worthington RIP - theo_luddite - 24-03-2021 He was certainly "scoring" for England long before he got his first full international cap. ![]() RE: Frank Worthington RIP - Amelia Chaffinch - 24-03-2021 Not behaviour to be celebrated any more. RE: Frank Worthington RIP - theo_luddite - 24-03-2021 True - the young lasses are doing it now RE: Frank Worthington RIP - Amelia Chaffinch - 24-03-2021 Well, celebrate it like you're doing with him. Bloody men. RE: Frank Worthington RIP - WakeyTerrier - 24-03-2021 A friend of a friend went round to his house about 10/12 years ago to do them a quote for Upvc windows. He didn't know it was Franks house as it was his wife who arranged the meeting and greeted him on arrival. Anyway job measured up and in walks Frank, who pulls the chap to one side and asks him to make some sort of excuse so they can go outside. So the salesman goes along with it, once outside Frank says thanks for that..can you drop me off at the bookies, the wife doesn't like me gambling. He did as well ![]() RE: Frank Worthington RIP - Amelia Chaffinch - 24-03-2021 My friend lived next door. I've heard all i ever want to hear about him. RE: Frank Worthington RIP - ritchiebaby - 24-03-2021 He was a relic of a byegone age and, as Amelia says, not a lifestyle to be celebrated anymore. Still, that doesn't detract from his unquestionable footballing talent, a showman on and off the pitch. Different era Ritchie, but for those of us who grew up then its hard not to feel a little nostalgia for when the players had a bit of character and weren't so bland and commercialised. |
