RE: Match Thread - Fulham - Maddix - 09-01-2016 At least we went for it and gave them a game when we lost 2-1 at Citeh the other year ![]() (09-01-2016, 21:26)St Charles Owl Wrote: Rooney puts the penalty away and 8,000 blunt fans will have a lovely wet drive back across the Pennines!!!! The blunts will rightly get some credit for their performance but they had zero ambition to even get over the halfway line and if that was us I would be disappointed we didn't give it more of a go!! MU were there for the taking on the break but SU didn't want to know about attacking!! To be serious for a moment (yes, I was winding y'all up earlier on!) isn't that the point: they are NOT us. They are a Pub Lg club. Had we been in their position and come away with a draw (which they nearly did) we would have said job well done as the revenues from a home game against MU would have flowed. ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Match Thread - Fulham - Maddix - 09-01-2016 To be serious, f'uck 'em PEI, f'uck 'em ![]() RE: Match Thread - Fulham - peiowl - 09-01-2016 And consiolio and Maddix, go sit in a corner and contemplate your navels. If I do that my knob keeps poking me in the eye ![]() RE: Match Thread - Fulham - consilio - 09-01-2016 Wildsmith 8 - One superb reaction save from point blank range and an all round top performance. Palmer 7 - Supported well down the right and is getting stronger with every appearance. Loovens 5 - A bit of a calamity again. I'm pretty certain he's playing with an injury as he was in constant contact with the management team and appeared to be limping. Way off the pace and awful on the ball. Sasso 8 - Quality again. Has impressed in every game I've seen. Make it permanent please DC. Pudil 6 - Did nothing wrong but didn't attach with any purpose. Wallace 6 - Flitted in and out of the game Lee 7 - Excellent in possession driving us forward but why won't he SHOOT! Lopez 4 - Rubbish, outmuscled. Not convinced by him at all Bannan 9 - Man of the match by a mile. Wonder strike, even more effective when played centrally in the second half. Sogou 6 - Three outstanding crosses into the box. Joao was nowhere to be seen. Joao 4 - Very poor. Consistently gave the ball away, stopped chasing and his head dropped. Nowhere near the finished article and it clear to see why he doesn't play every week. CC was furious with him for 75% of the game. Helan was excellent off the bench, as was Nuhiu. They can both be excellent impact players in their own right. Nuhiu won every header and scared them to death. Their CB's had handled Joao and Sougou with ease before he came on. Helan terrorised them with his pace and pushed them back as a team, making it easier for us to defend. Semedo was solid enough. Found out some very interning developments about the future of the club and DC's reign so far today. More to follow when I get home later........ MU were there for the taking on the break but SU didn't want to know about attacking!! Yes we would have said that, and maybe thats the pragmatic approach but I would still be disappointed with our approach if that was the case. That same Pub League Club beat PL teams in the last couple of seasons by having a go at them and lost in two semis having a go as well. Considering that was MUs full first 11 I imagine Blunt fans will take some pride from the performance and manner of the defeat, and yes we would have been the same, but MU were shocking today!! They were clueless in and around the box, it wasn't as if there were any crazy scrambles or missed golden opportunities, they just hardly posed any threat at all in front of goal. You can't leave us hanging like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() With regards to Joao I wonder how much the attention he got after the Arsenal game and the little run he went on then went to his head. Complete speculation on my behalf but maybe he needs bringing down a peg or two, in a nice way of course, to get him reforcussed on learning his trade and then putting in the effort on the pitch. |
