Of course, every Chancellor has claimed that the deficit is coming down and look upon that statement as proof that their economic policies are working. What they don't mention that it is the quarterly deficit that is coming down and that the overall deficit is continually rising to unmanageable levels. Another politician, another lie. No surprises there.

This comment by Alan Cumming is over a week old and yet the fallout from this brutal, succinct remark still simmers. Normally such a tabloid story ends up as 'chip shop paper' after a few days but it definitely reflects how polarised millionsof British people are re this vote as we observe our economy gradually stall and crash into another recession, compliments of a fractious Tory party that should never have 'opened the door' and allowed this crazy result to ever materialise in the first place!!

It's all down to opinion and the block vote, the protest vote in England, most definitely decreed that Brexit would be a reality. There are millions of people south of the border who concur with Cumming's viewpoint that too many stupid people swung this vote the wrong way. As for Scots destroying the interests (and seats) of the NLP in Scotland, many Scottish voters 'saw the light' and voted for the party that had Scottish interests at heart and fully represented Scottish interests. Indeed, if the indigenous Scottish block vote had only been counted in 2014, Scotland would've been an independent country and would be preparing for that eventuality. I'd say the events of 2014 rendered a huge proportion of the Scottish population to be politically aware and motivated and that 'enlightenment' covers a broad spectrum of age groups who totally changed the political landscape in Scotland forever!!

And, as predicted by many remain campaigners and economists, the Bank of England cuts the UK interest rates to 0.25% (the 1st change since 2009) in order to avoid an eventual recession, post Brexit result!! And of course the 'printing' of billions of BoE pound notes will follow because that's how it's done by nations in a similar position and ultimately increase our debt while our current govt is in a 'go slow' state!

And one of the SNP candidates, Tommy Sheppard, re-emphasises that the SNP can block any Brexit plan (and be part of a majority opposition to any Brexit deal) once May calls article 50 at some point in time and without a parliamentary vote.

So now it's possible that the Article 50 declaration could be delayed for 3 years. Of course, we're 'dead in the water' if we don't negotiate a proper trade deal with the properly managed resources to initiate this complicated process although many of our resident extreme 'brexiters' want us to leave now!! The plot thickens even more and will I see Article 50 unfold in my life time?

I still think Article 50 will not get signed, at least not by Theresa May. As this was an advisory referendum, there is no legal reason it has to be signed and I think maybe a General Election will be called before it gets signed. The uncertainty in all of this may actually harm the economy more than actually leaving now will. Still all a mess!!

Yes Charles it was an advisory referendum it wasn't legal binding but it would be political suicide if they didn't go with the 52% who voted for it. It wouldn't surprise me if a general election was called before 2020 obviously they would have to repeal the 5 year fixed term act. Looking at the EU it looks like it could disband before we invoke article 50.
