Newcastle United's 21-year-old English midfielder Matty Longstaff is wanted by West Brom, Norwich City, Middlesbrough, as well as Belgian side Anderlecht.

Not sure about this one either allegedly turned down Udinese and Schalke 04 last summer then played just 5 games at Newcastle before relegated to the reserves until March.

According to Percy medical booked as long as no last minute hiccups Alex Mowett will be arriving on a free. The Barnsley captain who’s contract runs out tomorrow will be Ismaël’s first signing.

I thought he would sign Mowatt. Barnsley fans thought he was pivotal to their success last season.

Lots of reports saying Mowett will sign tomorrow
Great if this happens a great start to our transfer dealings and on a free.

Linked with Awoniyi from Liverpool..... looks a pretty good pedigree/prospect/buy?
Josh?

I'm happy with this link. As a close follower of Union Berlin, I was able to watch a fair chunk of their matches last season and so saw Awoniyi play. I think he fits what Ismaël wants in a striker. He's a big bruiser, is built like an Ardennes horse, and has the strength of one too. His hold up play needs some work and his touch can be inconsistent but his attitude is good and always looked committed.

For Union he scored 5 goals in 22 matches and played as both a lone striker and as part of twosome. He was first choice striker from November to February when he suffered an injury and missed 3 months.

The season before that he was at Mainz, also in Germany, and scored 1 in 12 matches.

Josh I'm not sure about this player - injured for 3 months, and not a good average of goals. Huh

RE: June 25 2021 Transfer Window: Championship Rebuild - WBA-Josh - 01-07-2021

5 goals in 22 matches was a good return for him last season. Union Berlin scored a total of 50 league goals last season. The only teams with lower were the teams that finished in 12th and below (Union finished in 7th). Only 2 players scored more than him, Max Kruse with 11 and Joel Pohjanpolo with 6.

Even with the injury and 3 months out, he still played a total of 1,456 minutes last season and 16 of his 22 matches was as a starter.
