RE: World Cup 2018 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 28-06-2018 I think I'm right in saying that as long as we keep our nose clean, a draw will be enough to see us through as group champions? We're currently ahead of Belgium on fair play. RE: World Cup 2018 - St Charles Owl - 28-06-2018 So win the group and face Japan in the last 16, but that is followed by Brazil/Mexico in the Qtr finals, then France/Argentina/Uruguay/Portugal in the Semis. Come 2nd int he group and we face a tricky game with Colombia in the last 16 followed by Switzerland or Sweden in the Qtr finals, then Spain/Russia/Croatia/Denmark in the semis. One of those route is distinctly easier on paper but can any team ever play not to win and should they ever do that anyway? Of course we could play for the draw and just get a couple of bookings and we won't have to lose!! RE: World Cup 2018 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 28-06-2018 Glancing at the tournament tree, there are pros and cons wherever we finish in the group. Beating Belgium gives us the easier second round tie against Japan, but potentially leaves us facing Brazil in the quarters. Finishing runners-up saddles us with Colombia next round, but then Sweden or Switzerland in the quarters if we were to get through. Ha ha, great minds SCO ![]() RE: World Cup 2018 - Dingle-Dingle - 28-06-2018 DD ![]() ![]() RE: World Cup 2018 - WBA-Josh - 28-06-2018 So Belgium B beat England B as expected. Belgium now play Japan and England play Colombia. 1. Belgium 2. England 3. Tunisia 4. Panama Big test to come for England against Colombia. They may have been poor today but on their day they are a very good side and England should regain it’s composure and groove it was in against Panama. It should be an entertaining match.
