I can think of a more recent one whom I thought was brilliant for us but to easy. He was a massive favourite of my Dad too, says he was Immense for The Albion. Don't think I got to see him play as my first game (which I can't remember) was when I was 4 in 1971 RE: Pointless - this week K & L - Bierzo Baggie - 31-07-2017 Steve Lynex Like Derek Kevan ended up playing local league football, probably for the same team! Goal machine at Leicester but started off at Albion and came back again near the end of his career. Worked as a security guard at Merry Hill for a bit and also ran a pub. RE: Pointless - this week K & L - Dingle-Dingle - 31-07-2017 Phil King 1995. Played 5 times. Serious knee injury curtailed career. Noel Luke 82/84 Right back/winger. 9 apps. DD
RE: Pointless - this week K & L - Kennyg - 31-07-2017 One of my favourites from a few years back - Jason Koumas! On his day such a talented player with pace and trickery. Then the flop of a centre half - totally useless - Diego Lugano! RE: Pointless - this week K & L - 4evaabaggie - 31-07-2017 Diomansey kamara ...... Robert Koran.... together with Jason Koumas formed albions three K's. I won't put them together as that would not be racially acceptable. But three good players towards the end of our championship years ..... RE: Pointless - this week K & L - Baggievicar - 31-07-2017 Graham Lovett, of course. Got 2 cup winners medals with us in the 60s. And, terrifyingly, will be 70 this coming Saturday. Where has my youth gone? SAFT, yes he ran a pub down by Sandwell Hospital I think and a kid got badly injured on Bonfire night there after being hit by a Rocket or Banger. That's been about 15 years or more ago though. RE: Pointless - this week K & L - Beefy 1965 - 31-07-2017 Steve Lilwall Give me the prize now saft Lilwall words fail me, I know Crap Joleon Lescott Mickey Lewis anyone remember him ? I wrote to Alf Ramsey in 1969 telling him to come and have a look at Astle and Lovett because, if Graham wore a Liverpool or Chelsea shirt, he'd be great alongside Alan Ball and Bobby Charlton for England. I don't think Alf ever turned up at The Hawthorns, but he couldn't ignore Jeff topping the national Scoring Charts for the last 3 years. Graham Lovett never got a look in for some reason, but he really was a 'great', despite 2 broken legs. Injury forced him to retire when at his peak. He had everything in my view. |
