Maybe a bit more if we win on tuesday

RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Nottingham Forest - Statesideowl - 25-09-2016

We should beat Blackburn, they really are poor. What's more surprising is how poor Derby currently are to lose to B'Burn.

That said, we've done nothing to make our games easy for ourselves and make a grind of it by overcoming an initial deficit.

Match days I'm always in the heat of the moment and tend to be more reasonable later, We were ok in spells yesterday but overall simply not good enough. Forest came set up to bore us to death and hit us on the counter, every team that comes to S6 knows how CC works. When we do get the ball we create chances, for whatever reason we can't score enough of them. Westwood is getting beaten by shots he'd have gobbled up last season. I don't think he was at fault yesterday though, keepers tend to be a yard or two off their lines when the ball is that distance away.

Forest were average at best, and came to S6 as the away team. So it's hard to "come away with positives" the 3pts stolen in the 95th minute make up for the Brum game I suppose. It's a good foundation to keep moving up the table, hopefully we'll find some form because the last 9 games haven't been all that enjoyable.

Blackburn we need to set up the same as teams do to us and catch them with fessi on the break !! waste of time Bannan tapping around midfield if he plays ? infact i think id play jones and hutch in the middle with lee and bring in sasso with loovens !! fletcher just above them and fessi wherever he wants to be 4-3-1-1

CC loves his 442, I could see him going 433 but that's about it.

442 brings back too many traumatic memories for me and will get me rocking in the corner.

4-1-3-2 maybe? Hutch in front of the CB's and play Hooper just off fletchers shoulder. As we're dabbling Laugh

Victory at the Death

We did it again - going into stoppage time level but finding that bit extra to claim all three points at S6. It isn't good for the hearts of Wednesday fans but it shows the tremendous character that we have. If we could just claim a few easier wins by playing in the first half, who knows, we might just make a good promotion push.

It wasn't that we played poorly in the first half. In fact we should have been in front with Hooper, Fletcher & Wallace all forcing good saves with Fessi & Fletcher each amazingly failing to follow up Hooper's effort.

Forest scored against the run of play when Lansbury's long range shot ricocheted off Bannan and in off the bar, giving Westwood no chance.

Forest nearly went two up when Westwood was forced into a spectacular save to his left. Lee put us level with a free header from Wallace's beautifully flighted corner. After that, it was just a question of if we could get a winner. Wallace almost got it with a sweet chip that was headed off the line by Cohen.

Just after the announcement of five minutes of stoppage time, the goal came. The ball was pinballing about before Fessi & Fletcher beautifully set it up for Lee to sidefoot the ball home - almost as good as the Bristol City match.

Westwood - 7 - one important save, no chance with goal
Hunt - 6 - bright start but struggled later
Lees - 5 - Never really himself, turned out he was unwell
Hutchinson - 8 - looking like a quality CB now
Reach - 7 - struggled defensively but great going forward
Wallace - 7 - Involved in most of our best moves
Bannan - 6 - not at his best
Lee - 8 - slow start, brilliant finish
Fessi - 6 - below his best but worked hard
Hooper - 7 - good movement, linked play well
Fletcher - 7 - worked hard, good link play
..................................................................
Loovens - 7 - calm & assured
Abdi - 6 - kept possession well, needs to threaten more
Nuhiu - 6 - kept Forest defenders busy

Assists: 1 - Fletcher, Wallace

We need to find out how to win on the road or else we face a season of mid table mediocrity. Let's start at Blackburn on Tuesday.

20000 season tickets
4500-5000 pay on the day usually
2500 Forest fans roughly

Equals crowd 27000 to 27500 roughly

Then look at everyone else's post and add/subtract 101 Doh you really are a sad bastard Kev Doh I'd be more impressed with your BML predictions if you actually got them in early.

Don't forget to delete my score Chaz, I can't abide a c'unt Thumb up
