Sometimes its just a very good goal that the opposition score and those who have ever played the game know that there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. It's just that the 'pint in one hand, fag in another, overweight experts' like to show their 'knowledge' by apportioning blame to someone
As Stateside has pointed out, the blame lays in the build up. Bloody stupid free kicks given away whilst sitting back
If we had pushed on last night we could have caught the rest of the group up in terms of GD by winning 3 to 4 nil. Instead we invited them forward and ended with a 2-1

Mcguire put some good crosses in, doesn' matter if its zonal or man marking imo.
You wont be surprised to learn we have committed the most fouls in the Championship, that just puts more pressure on the defence. Half a dozen of the fouls last night weren't necessary as we had cover.

That's going to happen if you play high pressure football. Can't play that way and not give away free kicks.
Goals from set pieces are always avoidable and frustrate managers as they will have worked on defending then all week.
Good to see that we are disagreeing after 8 games unbeaten though instead of 8 games without a win!!

Balls played in like that are almost impossible to defend every time because the slightest touch is invariably a goal. We have to stop giving away so many free kicks.

Id rather us play with maximum intensity and lose a few goals through set pieces than stand off, sit back and create pressure.

I agree although we are still giving away silly free kicks that are increasing pressure on our defence. Once we learn that pressing doesn't mean jumping in stupidly then we will improve further.
