That actually makes more sense.  CC will integrate the style of play into the whole club and Cooper will implement it with the team.

Why Mark Cooper though? Why not get a top coach

I'm not convinced we would be able to get a "top coach" at the moment.  Also how many so called top coaches would agree to fit in with the new set up at S6.

RE: New Manager Thread - St Charles Owl - 19-06-2015

The fact that we are trying this set up in the first place tells us this is not the Wednesday we have known our whole lives, so hopefully it gives us a chance of becoming a modern club with some chance of success!!

RE: New Manager Thread - consilio - 19-06-2015

Not sure we have a patient enough fan base to get it and support it though.

I'm a massive doubter, hope I'm proved wrong

RE: New Manager Thread - Owlkev71 - 19-06-2015

We can do better than CC Thumb down  & MC Thumb down  and we should get rid of the "Committee" Thumb down  Doh  Thumb down  as they seem pretty clueless imo.

From The Star:

Sheffield Wednesday will have to fork out a six-figure compensation fee to prize Mark Cooper away from Swindon Town, The Star understands.

Although the Owls have still yet to make a formal approach for the Robins boss, there has been dialogue between the two parties this week.

It is understood the Championship club initially sounded Cooper out about becoming Carlos Carvalhal’s assistant, but, according to sources in Wiltshire, the Yorkshireman is not interested in such a position.

Now, in a fresh twist, the Owls are thought to be considering restructuring their management team in an attempt to persuade Cooper to move to Hillsborough. It is believed they are exploring the option of bringing Cooper in as their new head coach and appointing Carvalhal as general manager.

Sources close to Cooper, who led Swindon, despite limited resources, to the League One Play-Off final last year, say he would be interested in a head coach role. He has one year left remaining on his contract at the Country Ground, with the Robins likely to demand a six-figure sum, believed to be in the region of £150,000, if the Owls make a move for his services. Discussions are set to drag on into next week.
Should Wednesday be successful in their pursuit of Cooper, the former Peterborough chief will work closely with Carvalhal, who travelled to Sheffield yesterday to meet representatives of Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri, having already agreed personal terms with the club. The Portuguese has been out of management since 2012.

Why are we so interested in CC. I have scoured the Internet to find something positive about him, I'm still looking.

RE: New Manager Thread - Towinjustonce - 19-06-2015

Whatever way you look at it, we needed a change within the club as things were not working the way we had them.... In all likelyhood the chances that the first team or person that DC gets in will not be the best out there or for the long road. We have to take a step along that road and then when things progress then the best names for the positions available will be linked to us and will want to come work within that structure. it's not going to be a smooth road for the first year at least but we will just have to get on with it.

The SG sacking now, sets us back in player recuitment and pre-season but in my view will save us this hassle come November / December etc time for when we would of had to look for these figure heads, as I would of seen SG struggling with the structure and causing unrest within the camp. At the minute there is no camp as such....

If CC joins then he has a philosphy that the club want him to implement, thats why he is being chased, as for MC, I don't know...maybe he is well known within coaching circles for attractive styles of play while getting results. ( I know little of him or his time in Swindon). The person that has fallen away and who I think would of been a good fit as head coach under CC as DOF would have been that fella who was assistant at Valencia....Cathro was it ?? Scottish so can communicate with players while also understanding the foreign style of doing and implementing structures/playing styles/ player welfare etc making for a seamless enough transition there. MC knows nothing of working within a foreign regime.....

It will be interesting to know what DC chooses, and why ?? We could have 3-4 head coaches by the time this season is out.....

Just don't understand why CC is the man we are looking to build our future around
