RE: Match Thread - Ipswich Town - Thurnscoe_OWL - 10-02-2015

he's 6"6 so clearly is an arial threat even if he cant jump, he's usually marked by 2 players as well opening up the game for others

Should have brought Mags on for McGugan to keep them on the back foot with his speed. Nuhiu adds nothing

I think Mags should have been on, but I had no problem bringing Nuhiu on, purely to hold the ball up for runners!! He is still the only player we have who can do that effectively!! By all means take the RB off but replace him with a midfielder, not another defender!! Instead he keeps the same formation, pushes May out wide where he is wasted, he should have gone 343 with melo anchoring midfield and Mags just behind the strikers, but that is just too progressive for SG!!!

The gap between us and the play offs getting wider every game and the gap to the bottom is narrowing. The lack of goals, poor finishing and tactical options are getting very annoying!!! We are a joke upfront

He adds the hold up play and ariel threat which, when you get players round him, works pretty well

This may be true and these things may be his strengths but it isn't working for us so it adds nothing. Maybe it's all SG's fault and he doesn't know the strengths of his players or how to utilise them either way it isn't good enough and it has done nothing for us tonight.

13pts off the play-offs and 9pts from relegation with 16 games to go.

It's only going to go one way with that clunt in charge Angry

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE

if before the start of the season you had been offered 10th spot going into February, would you have been happy?

That 10th spot is pretty ropey though and could well be 16th by the weekend. We may be 10th but we are still ONLY 9 points from the drop zone and with the way we are playing at the moment I for one am not feeling too comfortable.

I predicted 10th at the start of the season, but it doesn't really matter!! No one predicted our defence would be so good this season and that we would have been in the position a few weeks back to get into the playoff picture!! Its so frustrating that we are so close, yet ultimately fall away, a slide we need to stop asap!!
