BBC Transfer thread......

Saido's wind problems?
Posted at 15:55

In case you missed it earlier, the chances of Saido Berahino getting a helicopter up to Newcastle are slim. Our BBC Weather team say it's not the weather to be landing choppers or light aircraft because of gale-force winds.

Each piece of the jigsaw makes up the puzzle etc.

It's not as windy in north London...

Do they know something?? DD Whistle Whistle

Asked about more general deadline day activities, Kemp went on to explain that with a few hours left it's possible we might add another player but it won't be a loan.

'I'm not saying nothing will happen it's deadline day, you never know. We'll be here until quite late as tends to happen. Outside of that we`re preparing for tomorrow`s game.'

Wind is a big problem - both on Sky Football News and in general. I know flights from Dublin this morning were cancelled.

I think we keep Berahino and motivate him both financially on goals scored for rest of season and buy the addition of a few players (Pritchard, Sandro and maybe one or two others).

We then promise him if we stay up we will let him go assuming a minimum bid of £25m (which would happen if he sores 10+ goals).

This means we stay up which is worth at least £75m. We had a functioning striker without having to spend (worth £25) and we can sell a highly rated striker this summer to re-invest.

JP can see this and it makes good business sense.

QPR have signed a winger from mighty Burton. Should mean Phillips is on the scrapheap.

"It's not Deadline Day as we know it. But in terms of overall spend over the season, it's exceeded £1bn, which is astonishing. There are a couple of deals still likely to go through before 11: Porto midfielder Gianelli Imbula to Stoke, and Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse to Everton. As for Saido Berahino, it looks like he'll be staying at the Hawthorns."
