Whether Maguire exagerated it or not, it is still a penalty. RE: Match Thread - Huddersfield Town - Statesideowl - 24-11-2014 Definite penalty, Maguire made a meal of it though, throwing both arms up at the same time with both legs doing the same.. If only he just carried on with his momentum and gone down naturally it could've been different. I personally believe Maguire does make meals of challenges and dives a bit. Horrendous qualities for a footballer to have. RE: Match Thread - Huddersfield Town - Thurnscoe_OWL - 24-11-2014 We need a proper attacking coach who can tell players where to be for crosses, when to put crosses in instead of shooting, when to pass instead of shooting, how to shoot instead of passing and how to fall properly for a foul RE: Match Thread - Huddersfield Town - WakeyTerrier - 24-11-2014 I thought it was a penalty and was amazed the ref didn't give it RE: Match Thread - Huddersfield Town - madsteve - 24-11-2014 (24-11-2014, 15:43)Imre varadi Wrote: but he did exagerate like lee and nuhui the weeks before !! when will Wednesday ever learn ANYTHING aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That is the point Hackett makes. Exagarating doesn't mean it isn't a penalty if a foul has been commited as it clearly was here. Even Chris Powell said, there was only one person who saw that foul & didn't think penalty. Thankfully for us that one man was the referee. That was Chros Powell's quote - he said thankfully. RE: Match Thread - Huddersfield Town - Maddix - 24-11-2014 I'm more pissed off with May's booking ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Match Thread - Huddersfield Town - madsteve - 25-11-2014 Let's see if the referee rings SG to apologise. I know that several referees rang DJ to apologise when they made mistakes. It doesn't make things right but it does make you think that at least they are honest in assessing their performance. Graham Salisbury has had many poor matches involving Wednesday & the contraversial decisions have always gone against us, home or away. He doesn't strike me as being humble, more pompous. RE: Match Thread - Huddersfield Town - St Charles Owl - 25-11-2014 I still maintain that the reason the penalty wasn't given was that Maguire was already on his way to the ground before he was touched!! He knew he was going to be fouled but in trying to "sell" it to the ref he went down too early!! He needs to occasionally try to stay on his feet right through a challenge, he will get much more respect from refs if he does that. It was a foul, but if he was deemed to be simulating before the tackle then maybe that foul took precedence in the refs eye!! On an earlier discussion I said I would like to see refs be able to explain their thinking about the decisions they made during a game, give them the opportunity to tell us why they gave a decision and maybe even accept that they were wrong with hindsight, this would be a classic case for the ref to be able to give his version, but we know that's not going to happen. |
