RE: Jan 26th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Dingle-Dingle - 29-01-2016 West Bromwich Albion are in talks with Queens Park Rangers over a loan deal for 26-year-old former Tottenham midfielder Sandro. (Telegraph) Newcastle United are ready to abandon plans to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino and pursue alternative options. The Magpies are willing to pay in excess of £20m for the 22-year-old but have received no encouragement for the Baggies. (Newcastle Chronicle) Chelsea's Loic Remy, 29, is the forward Newcastle want to sign if they cannot get Berahino. Remy scored 14 goals in 26 Premier League games during a loan stint at Newcastle in 2013-14. (Telegraph) Should we let Fat Boy go and get Remy in instead?? DD ![]() ![]() Four days and counting............... RE: Jan 26th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - BaggieMan - 29-01-2016 Sandro, right in the Pulis mould being a 6ft 2in defensive midfielder. Just what we need for pace, guile and creativity plus cover for Morrison. Inspirational Pulis strikes again if it comes off ![]() RE: Jan 26th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 30-01-2016 A bit of a surprise After Sandro's signing ............. TP: "We would like to bring a couple of players in. The Club is working hard to try and do that. It's difficult in January" #WBA RE: Jan 26th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Dingle-Dingle - 30-01-2016 Newcastle will not be able to sign West Brom striker Saido Berahino, 22, as the Baggies do not want to sell him to another club near the bottom of the Premier League. (Express & Star)>>>>>>>. Why not.? Prima Donna comes in and upsets the squad....... Should be good for us. Central Midfield was clearly the main priority given that we only have Fletcher, Yacob and Gardner fit and we usually play 3 there. As for the player, he's 26, has regularly represented Brazil and has Premier League experience. He's played lots of games for a good Spurs side including Champions League football. The loan with an option to buy gives us chance to look at him, see what he's like and for him to prove his fitness. Seems like a good deal to me and really can't see any reason to be negative about it. Yes, we need other positions such as a decent creative midfielder, left back and forward if Saido goes. But a defensive midfielder was also a priority. When Yacob was out earlier in the season, Evans had to cover there. IMO it's a good signing but hopefully there is more to come. Slick, don't mind us signing him but IMO our number one priority should be to improve the creativity and pace with the addition of an attacking midfielder not a defensive one. Failing to do so again smacks of Pulis negativity which surely you must agree. ![]() RE: Jan 30th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Zinman - 30-01-2016 Successes: Fletcher, Evans, Maclean. Jury out: Rondon (I'm being kind), Sandro. Failures: Lambert, Gnabry, McManaman, Chester (based on their inability to get a game under Pulis). If you were Peace, would you trust Pulis to spend your money? RE: Jan 30th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 30-01-2016 How about this for a loan move?? "Chelsea's Loic Remy 'wants loan move, but Leicester not interested'" I thought for a second Chelsea would not loan him to a rival anyway, then I remembered we are one of their rivals, not Leicester lol http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10143109/chelseas-loic-remy-wants-loan-move-but-leicester-not-interested RE: Jan 30th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 31-01-2016 Gnarby being recalled by Wenger frees up another Domestic loan ![]() RE: Jan 30th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - aries22 - 31-01-2016 (30-01-2016, 22:27)Zinman Wrote: Successes: Fletcher, Evans, Maclean. I'm not sure I'd call McManaman a failure, but you do have to wonder why we bought James Chester, and loaned in Gnabry, and Lambert has been a total failure. But yes, if I were JP, I might be asking TP why I should trust him with large sums of transfer cash. To my mind, we've failed to do anything with Berahino, either make best use of him or sell him, and we've failed to get in Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips, although I can see why Charlie Austin plumped for Southampton, being near to where his family lives. |
