'He's still hoping he can force his way back into the team with a strong pre-season. If he moves it will be to a London team like West Ham or Crystal Palace - West Brom is not really an option. His agent wants to push him to a London team. He's said no to West Brom because he's played at Villa and the long-ball game is not the kind of football he wants to play. He earns a lot of money at Liverpool and I don't see Albion matching that. Maybe when there's no other options he might consider West Brom, if it's the last resort.'

Adding spice to the source being genuine, it added.

'He needs a manager who trusts him and will put an arm around him like Paul Lambert and Tim Sherwood did at Villa. He needs a lot of attention because he's quite mentally weak in a way.'

Not a major surprise and he's probably unaffordable, even with the additional money we'll receive. To be honest, assuming that we continue with Rondon then I wouldn't think that Benteke is the sort of striker we need, being too similar to Salomon. I think we need someone who can play alongside him and complement him, rather than play instead of him.

West Brom want striker Saido Berahino, 22, to stay despite interest from Tottenham and Stoke. (Daily Mirror)

West Brom could move for Brighton centre-half Lewis Dunk, 24, if 27-year-old Wales international James Chester, 27 leaves this summer. (Birmingham Mail)

Good, lets get rid and hopefully involve a swap deal with Ighalo coming to The Albion

....not quite the move that Big Head had in mind.

West Brom have denied receiving any formal offers for 22-year-old striker Saido Berahino, despite interest from Watford. (Express and Star)

Aston Villa manager Roberto di Matteo will not look to replace goalkeeper Brad Guzan, 31, with West Brom's Boaz Myhill, 33. (Birmingham Mail)

Just wondering what effect the referendum will have on this years transfers, in the result of an out vote I doubt will would sign anyone on more than a 2 year deal, as there will be a 2 year transition period. But long term an out vote would put European players in the same category as an overseas player is there a limit on the number of overseas player you can have and if there is does anyone know how many? Maybe we should hold on to SB for another year (after signing him to a 2 or 3 year deal) as all English players will be drastically over priced.

Not for 7.5 million though, eh?

Where does it say £7.5m?
