If Fletcher was to go to Stoke (really???), would it be proper grammer to sing West Brom Reject in the plural. On a more serious note, as serious as it can be based on press speculation, assuming Fletcher has already been offered two new contracts, which he has turned down and reports that we are about to go back with another improved offer to keep him, are we going to be paying over the top?? Fletchers contributions have been noticeably going downhill from towards the end of his first season, personally I would not be offering an "over the top" contract just to keep him, he is IMO fast approaching his use before date with his best before date already past. Again IMO Fletcher was uncountable a class player in his day, but i think Yacob is better at the job as a defensive midfielder, but Fletch is more creative, but these days if you were to look at him just as a creative midfielder, there are better out there, I would even go as far as to say we have better creative players in the squad, if they were allowed to play creatively. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (31 May) - May68 - 01-06-2017 Let him go. He may be a good lad in the dressing room etc etc but he can't trap a ball and doesn't have a great range of passing. And he's deteriorating by the month. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (31 May) - Stairs - 01-06-2017 Striker - Steve Mounie Offer made - http://readwestbrom.com/2017/06/01/west-brom-make-offer-montpellier-striker-steve-mounie/ We had this rumour reported back in December RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (31 May) - Baggie_One - 01-06-2017 Bye bye https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3698517/stoke-city-transfer-news-darren-fletcher/ RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (31 May) - Beefy 1965 - 01-06-2017 Says we have let him go ![]() Albion have opted not to keep former Manchester United star Fletcher as Tony Pulis looks for younger blood. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (31 May) - BaggieSteve - 01-06-2017 I like Fletcher a lot in terms of his professionalism, his leadership and his mature contribution to the growth of the club over the last two years. However, with regard to the most important aspect, namely his contribution as a player, I think his best days are well behind him. I also think that, as long as he is with us, he will always be an automatic selection by Pulis and I don't think his performances justify that. So, I honestly think this frees us up in midfield to inject some creativity and pace.......well, it would if Pulis wasn't responsible for replacing him. Which ageing pedestrian will he sign, do you reckon? RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (31 May) - Baggievicar - 01-06-2017 Craig Gardner could do a job, Steve. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (31 May) - BaggieSteve - 01-06-2017 Nice one, reverend ![]() |
