It's more than just football on a saturday, it's an all dayer.

Today was just very hard work staying awake

I nearly went back to the pub,

One shot on goal all night! Good job it went in!

I think Soggy Moggy will start instead of Matias on Saturday, he looks to be struggling at the minute!

RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Reading - Washington - 20-08-2015

Was stuck on a training course all day today so didn't get chance to listen in. Doesn't sound like I missed much other than reading parking the bus and not Boush. Glad we snatched something at the end there.

I will check in on what carlos had to say about the opposites later.

Youngest daughter is getting married on Saturday so the early start for L**ds will work in my favour give me a chance of listening in if I'm not too hungover from the rehearsal dinner on friday night.

RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Reading - Imre varadi - 20-08-2015

Well that would have been proper shite and a sign of things havnt changed one bit if not for a 90th minute equaliser !! good point in the end then and i was going to say before the game that id take 4pts from the next 2 and obviously it will be 3 better points on saturday !!

Carlos has a lot to do it seems in picking the right centerbacks and strikers !! but to me it looks easy enough and its get rid of loovens and bring in that dutch fellow and bring back may ffs cos lets face it hes the best poacher we have !!

RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Reading - consilio - 20-08-2015

That was awful. We are going to get big and strong physical teams looking to bully us and that's exactly what Reading did. McShane and Ferdinand were outstanding, as was Quinn and the American lad that scored.

We got outmuscled and out worked and were so lucky to scrape a point. CC didn't change the formation, don't know why because it wasn't working after 5 minutes. His only change was to push Matias up top for the last twenty minutes or so.

The game was crying out for Semedo in midfield, Lopez was poor and he got marked out of the game.

Price 5 - Looked shaky and spilled a couple of easy shots on goal

Hunt 7 - Probably our best player
Loovens 4 - Not fit and it showed. Why have a large squad and not use it???????
Lees 6 - On his own at times
Wiggins 6 - Good defensively but not much going forward

Hutchinson 6 - Slows the tempo too much. Had more of the ball than anyone else but couldn't get us going. 2 or 3 excellent 50 yard passes

McGugan 3 - Dreadful
Lopez 4 - Not much better

Matias 4 - No threat at all
Wallace 6 - Good in patches

Joao 6 - Poor service, poor touch throughout the game. Got outclassed by two superb CB's.

Sougou looked a bright spark again. Sasso was fairly solid, Bus had no time to make an impact.

CC very lucky, poor tactics and waited too long to make changes. Where was Nuhiu?

Sougou for Matias, Semedo for Magugan and Nuhiu for Joao at Leeds should be the changes.

RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Reading - Daffodils on the piano - 20-08-2015

There must be a xxxx time warp on Penistone Road cos I would swear I'd gone back to last season last night.Either that or I had fallen asleep and it is last season and I have had a weird dream that we had been bought out by someone with a few bob, spent a bit of it on new players and we were going places. Then I must have woke up and start to panic cos someone has lifted £40 out of my pocket,I call the stewards over to explain and they tell me to xxxx off.
Shite,it was,got to improve a lot on last night.Wednesday, never failing to disappoint me.

RE: Match Thread - SWFC v Reading - A57owl - 20-08-2015

Well that was garbage. Reading came and did a job on us and won the battle. Our midfield showed very little fight and attacking prowess. If Carlos can't get it sorted quickly, I fear the crowd will soon turn. There was no sign of the promised attacking football. It was a terrible game of football with too many owls not up for the battle.

Price 6 - Had little to do but didn't fill me with confidence. Spilled a couple

Hunt 7 - Played well. Tried to move us forward
Loovens 4 - Didn't look right from the start. Got injured. Should not have started???
Lees 6 - Did little wrong. Played OK.
Wiggins 6 - Good defensively, offered little up front. Too keen to pass back or sideways. Did make runs like Hunt

Hutchinson 6 - Got stuck in, had lots of the ball but too often passed sideways or back

McGugan 4 - Not at the races. Out battled and looked lost
Lopez 5 - Tried at the start but lost impact. Out battled. May have a good pass completion rate BUT too many sideways and back passes!!

Matias 4 - Not in the game. Was moaning about passes not reaching him. Made very few penetrating, forward runs
Wallace 6 - Work hard with Hunt, too many crosses beyond back post or into an empty danger zone

Joao 6 - Got out battled by CB's. Poor movement, touch and strength. A young boy against 2 strong CBs. Wrong choice??

Sougou - looked lively. Sasso 6- defended well. Bus - no time to make impact

From tonight it seems clear we need more bite in the middle of the park. Our so called play makers were non existent. We had a boy up front who was out muscled from the start. I think Carlos got a few things wrong tonight and too many players were not up for the fight or unable to push forward meaningfully. The stats show a very defensive Reading set up manged far more shots than we did despite our attacking 'flair' and set up!!! Sadly, the crowd began to turn, not a good sign.

Can't say I'm looking forward to Saturday!!
