I know its currently nothing to do with us - but hopefully in the next couple of years this will affect us!!!  It is imo very good news for Washington, Stateside and myself, especially as I can get the games either on tv or on my Ipad through their app!!

NBCs coverage of the prem over here is excellent and they have enough channels to be able to show every game live, even all the 3pm games.  So on a Saturday morning I can choose to watch whichever game is on in the Prem while listening to our commentary on WW.  The pundits in the studio are good as well, they use Robbie Mustoe and Robbie Earle, both of whom played for Wednesday as well, and they seem much more genuine and honest in the praise and criticism of teams and players than what I remember when so called "stars" are used on MOTD or Sky!!

Good news indeed, especially as we'll be in the Premier within that time Whistle

As you say SCO, that's a handful of channels running concurrent games. It definitely beats Baseball and 'Football' on almost every channel almost every day

RE: Money, money, money!! The 2015-16 Push to the Premier League - Act 1: Summer 2015 - Washington - 10-08-2015

Yes the current agreement and multiple channel options has made the games more widely available than when just on the Fox Soccer Channel. The other half goes to the gym every Saturday morning too so I get to watch in peace and listen to WW. Though, as she's originally from the Potteries, she did want to watch the Stoke game yesterday morning.

However, I keep thinking that I should splash out and subscribe to the Spanish GOL cable channel and be able to watch the Mexican, Portuguese, Dutch and German games too and just let her watch HGTV in the other room.

I think Sky could be missing a trick here. Surely they could link up with one of the NA broadcasters to show the Sky Sports channels. That would give the ex-pats, and I'm sure there's quite a few, access to the FL, Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Darts, Speedway etc plus all those European leagues you mentioned Wash Thumb up Plus the Irish FL Confused that would go down well in New York Cool

The two big satellite providers here are DISH and Direct TV.  TBH i've no idea what soccer and other non NBA, NHL, NFL and MLB sports they carry and just stuck with the cable phone/internet/tv bundle at a given level of subscription. They are sneaky and put interesting (and I don't mean Playboy TV) channels in with a bunch of dross and it costs an arm and two legs to get the full monty. Even getting the mexcian sports coverage that would give more football options would involve a gazillion spanish speaking soaps, quiz shows and crazy Benny  Hiil type comedies.

As SCO and Stateside will attest there can be 500 channels listed and FA to watch.

I spend a lot of time watching BBC America and Public Broadcasting so we can watch quality TV programs !!!

South Park did a full episode on it called "Informative Murder Porn". Companies make it near enough impossible to cancel as well, Sky have been a bastard for cancelling my Mum's TV, Internet and phone by giving each a differing cancellation date and making it so that she has to pay another months Internet and phone by stalling her for a day Angry

sneaky fĂșcks these big comanies

I'm with DirecTv, I'm down to the basic package plus HBO. It's extortionate for 20 year old re-runs.

Same here Washington, though I have to suffer "Cash In The Attic" on BBC America as the missis likes it Doh

Those South American channels are effing crazy, so many loud colours.. and breasts bouncing everywhere Whistle

RE: Money, money, money!! The 2015-16 Push to the Premier League - Act 1: Summer 2015 - St Charles Owl - 11-08-2015

I switched to AT&T Uverse when I moved to CA and to be honest its excellent. I chose it becuase the secodn to basic service gives you all the sports channels, whereas with Comcast I had to buy a "Sports Package" to get them.

The best thing over here though is that nearly all the mainstrwam sport such as the NFL, College Football, Baseball, NBA, March Madness, NHL etc are all shown on the main regular channels that come with all the basic packages so if you only watch the NFL there is no way for the TV companies to stiff you with a special package like Sky do. In UK terms its like all the top sports still being on BBC, ITV and Channel 4, instead of Sky paying billions for the rights, the main channels spend that money instead. Until the BBC remove the license fee and accept advertising they won't be able to afford any top sports packages!!

Like you guys I end up watching quite a bit of BBC America, mainly Top Gear.
