RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - valpayne - 31-01-2018 A few of the pundits have said Sturridge should have chosen newc. Well he didn't and his reasons are a breathe of fresh air. He has said he chose wba because he's a birmingham born player and he feels at home here. Even when coming here with other teams he has felt at home as he has friends he grew up with here in the crowd. He also said he likes the football philosophy that pardew is looking to adopt at wba it suits his style and he's excited about the challenge. Some very heart warming and sound reasons for the choice he made and I'd venture to say although we are bottom we are looking stronger and stronger with each passing week whereas I think Newcastle are having a slump and looking precariously over their shoulder. Time will tell of course but if we can get the sturridge that's scored 74 in 114 and we can keep him fit I think we have reasons to be optimistic. RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 31-01-2018 Really, really hope that the local connection brings out the best in Sturridge. Saido had the chance to be a homegrown hero and blew it; the last piece of the jigsaw right now is a popular player the fans can rally behind. RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - Baggiebob(BBB) - 31-01-2018 I see a few more youngsters have gone out on loan, good, though Roberts to Leeds for 2.5m, they might regret. I will keep my eye on their score sheets. Seems that Evans has gone off the radaar? RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - BaggieMan - 31-01-2018 Really, really hope Evans doesn't move especially if we don't have an extra 'player' in mind and by not selling Jonny we wouldn't fall foul of the FFP rules. Evans is a top player and we need his experience and quality IF we are to survive. ![]() RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - Salopbaggie - 31-01-2018 SS reporting renewed interest in Evans from Arsenal, though still thought Arsenal are way below our valuation. No Evans in the #wba squad but that's because of his hamstring injury. Arsenal offered £12m late on this afternoon but were swiftly told no. There will be no more business this window. Another youngster away on loan. I'm still pinching myself that we've actually signed the bloke. A fit Daniel Sturridge, alongside an in-form Rodriguez or Rondon will be such a potent strikeforce. RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - Baggiebob(BBB) - 03-02-2018 Can we still get players on loan? Or is it completely finished with. RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - BaggieMan - 03-02-2018 The only thing we can ‘loan’ now Bogroll, is a cup of milk for us brew, And if we dunna whup them Saints today, wum fecked! |
