JP, get rid now and save our club from the real threat of relegation and the derision it is suffering from the likes of Savage and Ian Wright.

Nigel Pearson would be a good shout especially when you look at what he achieved at Lesta and the team that sits 4th in the league is basically his.

Ska'd, there may have been one or two others who were concerned over Pulis' appointment but perhaps not as voracious as The Baggie Man !!!

You need to realise that the majority of people who were pro Pulis, were pro Pulis because we needed a manager with experience at handling the dog fight, getting the best out of garbage squad and keeping us up. Pulis did a damn good job of that. He got us winning at home again and made us hard to beat to boot.

However, that doesn't mean every person who was pro Pulis back then, a year ago, wanted him to be in charge of us forever. Football evolves and expectations change. In an ideal world, if you had a Chairman with an understanding of the game and a set of stones on him, Pulis would've been pulled in as a short term to keep us up and then ditched when we had £30m to spend (Based on the fact he failed at Stoke when they started spending big).

Unfortunately very few Chairmen have that understanding and the balls to ditch someone on the back of 'success'. In the rare occasion when it does happen (Southampton ditching Adkins for Pochettino), the chairman is usually slagged off for it.

Ultimately, the blame has to go with Peace and board for a succession of poor recruitment decisions. If we'd employed someone with a decent track record last summer, instead of Irvine, who was out of his depth in the lower league - we probably would never have been in this mess.

I think most have lost focus of the above.

The situation now is the result of several poor managerial appointments, and Peace brought Pulis in for the sole task of keeping us in the league, whatever it takes. And as Slick has rightly said, Peace should have had the balls to have a succession plan in place to replace Pulis once that had been achieved.

Yet despite how poor we've been... I still don't think we'll be relegated this year. I'd be more worried if I were a Villa fan to be honest.

Come on JP, give Derek McInnes a call.....unless you want an empty stadium and championship football.

De Boer's looking to get into the premier league isn't he Whistle

Pearson is a good shout as when Robbo was sacked didn't we win 4 and draw 1 under his leadership before Mowbray was given the Job?
Worldclass, right now I'd settle for a manager/coach who played any type of football than the dross that is being served up right now.

Think it was Hoddle who said mid commentary that some players wouldn't enjoy games playing the way we do, and he's dead right, defenders are over worked, midfielders are by-passed and the front men just chase aimless balls, and that goes on for 90+ minutes.

I've been neither pro nor anti TP since his appointment, but in all the years I've followed the Albion - and I've seen a few poor players in that time - this rates as possibly the worst to watch. The difference this time is that I really don't think we've got poor players.

It's the tactics that are so wrong on all counts, how can the decent attacking players we've got show any ability or get into any form when they're being asked to play this way. They're then slated for being useless or a waste of money.

IMO they're not useless but they are a waste of money as its like buying a million pound car and driving it continually in first gear over a ploughed field and then wondering why it's not delivering the performance it's capable of. That's what Pulis is doing to our team

I'm not at the Pulis out point yet but it's getting closer watching this awful, boring devoid of anything positive shit every game we play  Angry Angry

I wonder if Abramovich would do us a huge favour by sacking Mourhino and taking on Pulis to save them from relegation?  You can but hope !

I think there's more than a few suspect managers in this league at the minute, top of the list being Steve McClaren. Around £52 Million spent I think and they're rock bottom.

Is that all Steve McClaren's fault? As much as I don't rate him as a manager the short comings for Newcastle aren't all down to him. Yet another club who have played loose and fast with managers over the years and look where they are for it now.

Sound familiar?

If we're going to be bottom six, which we shouldn't be, let's get Tony Mowbray back, at least then we'd play decent football.

Manager reaction
Chelsea 1-3 Southampton

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho speaking to Sky Sports: "Look, I think you know me and I don't run away from my responsibilities. First, I want to say because we are in such a big moment you should not be afraid to be honest.
"The referees are afraid to give decisions for Chelsea. At 1-1, it is a huge penalty and once again we don't get. If the FA wants to punish me they can. They don't punish other managers. My players deserve it and the fans deserve it.
"Referees are afraid to give decisions for Chelsea, why because there is always a question mark and we are always punished.
"Clear penalties are not given. Even in the Champions League in a match we lose 2-1, we are not given a penalty in the last minute.

We know you only too well, Jose, and we remember last-minute penalties. What goes round comes round.

The only plus point is that Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa are even worse than us. However there is a danger that they might get their act together at some point.
I sort of felt sorry for the players today. Particularly Brunt who got tormented by Zaha, played out of position, and got a nasty blow to the nose for his troubles. Brunt is one of many technically gifted players in this team who are having all of the football coached out of them. Berahino needs to get out soon for the sake of his career. He will struggle to get more than 8-10 goals a season with this style of play. It wouldn't surprise me if Pulis loses the dressing room at some point soon. The players look fed up.

That last thought crossed my mind today, May68, when Pulis, in his post-match interview, said the players looked 'flat and poor' compared to the previous week against Villa, and I wonder whether they want to play for him, or whether today was all about Palace completely negating Albion's play and making us look ordinary. Be interesting to get the views of people who were at the match today.

Sunderland game is huge.
If we don't win then can't see TP keeping his job.
It's a results business and he has been getting results but we MUST win against the Maccums.
Bring it on.
