RE: The gambling/betting thread - madsteve - 09-07-2015 I mentioned that I had my first bets for The Open on Speith at 15/2 and Oosterhuizen at 28/1. I have added Tommy Fleetwood as my third bet. Tommy is going to win a major over the next few years and St Andrews is the course where he excels. He is a lovely links player. I expect him to do well this week in the Scottish but at 80/1 paying seven places, he looks great value for The Open. RE: The gambling/betting thread - Owlkev71 - 09-07-2015 John Deere Classic Ryan Moore 25/1 Kevin Streelman 80/1 Scottish Open Justin Rose 12/1 Jimmy Walker 28/1 Chris Wood 66/1 David Howell 70/1 RE: The gambling/betting thread - madsteve - 09-07-2015 (09-07-2015, 11:22)Owlkev71 Wrote: John Deere Classic Think Ryan Moore is a good shout & Streelman is value at 80/1. Rose & Walker were both on my long list for this week & a win for either wouldn't surprise me. Wood & Howell are both on the naughty step as far as I am concerned as they have cost me money recently by starting well and falling away. Walker & Wood are already -2 after a handful of holes. Fitzpatrick -2 after three holes - great start! Didn't put it on here yesterday but had a 60/1 multiple bet on the tennis yesterday with Murray to win 3-0, Federer to win 3-0, Djokovic to win 3-0 & Gasquet to win. Today I have Williams & Radwanska to both win 2-0 which is a touch over 5/1 with BWin. RE: The gambling/betting thread - Luke_East_Baggie - 09-07-2015 Why did I never know about this thread before!!! Scottish Open, I've had: Kuchar - 30/1 Each Way Shane Lowry 25/1 Each Way I've made money in the last 5 out of 6 gold competitions I've bet on, Ricky Fowler twice, and Spieth twice, mainly in the last few, so hope to keep my streak going with the 2 above! Lowry is my top bet & starts about now. Have found golf to be pretty profitable if you do your homework. RE: The gambling/betting thread - Luke_East_Baggie - 09-07-2015 I have never really paid too much attention to Lowry, but some of his escape shots in the last tournament were incredible - I really like the way he went round, and I said I would back him when he's back in the UK. Kuchar has gone off well too, which is nice. Is it on any TV channel? I'm only looking on betting sites as to scoreboard updates. RE: The gambling/betting thread - consilio - 09-07-2015 Its on SS4 RE: The gambling/betting thread - madsteve - 09-07-2015 (09-07-2015, 18:06)Luke_East_Baggie Wrote: I have never really paid too much attention to Lowry, but some of his escape shots in the last tournament were incredible - I really like the way he went round, and I said I would back him when he's back in the UK. His current form is good so he could go close this week or next week. RE: The gambling/betting thread - madsteve - 09-07-2015 Scottish Open - Day One Mixed Day Shane Lowry (25/1) -4 Tied 9th Matthew Fitzpatrick (125/1) -3 Tied 18th Branden Grace (22/1) -1 Tied 53rd Byeong Hun An (50/1) Par Tied 77th Victor Dubuisson (50/1) Par Tied 77th RE: The gambling/betting thread - madsteve - 10-07-2015 John Deere Classic - Day One Steve Stricker (40/1) -6 Tied 5th Zach Johnson (10/1) -5 Tied 10th My two picks both proved the value of course specialists. My hunch to give Jordan Speith a miss proved correct as he finished Round One on level par for Tied 101st. I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss the cut so he can get an early flight over here for The Open. |
