RE: New manager - wba13 - 21-06-2021

Looks like Ismael all agreed , there saying it will be announced today or tomorrow.
Hopefully we can then bring in Mowett out of contract at Barnsley and Dike loan. That would be an excellent start.
For me this is a great appointment.

I’ve got to be honest and say that what I saw of Barnsley, mirrored by almost all the reports I read, I could only describe their football as “industrial”. It certainly wasn’t pleasing on the eye! However, to be fair to Ismael, he has worked miracles there and the style may have reflected the resources available to him. I’m hoping so. If nothing else, he seems to be a manager with a clear idea of what he wants and I’m guessing that, as a player, if you don’t do the business, you’re out. It will also be good to get this long drawn out saga put to bed.

RE: New manager - WBA-Josh - 21-06-2021

His record at Linz was 64 points from 32 matches. His record at Barnsley was 74 points from 39 matches. His Barnsley team only lost 11 matches in that time.

I'll be happy with this appointment.

RE: New manager - Stairs - 21-06-2021

well, we were never consulted and we just have to take what we are given.

I am prepared to wait and see. At least we have him on board to pick some players and create a team that he wants (no moaning about did the best with the resources available) and so I am hoping for something a little more refined. I imagine he will want to do the same before he becomes branded as a hoof ball manager.

Let's get building that squad!!!!!

Oooh you've upset all our neighbours and friends in Barnsley! He's become highly rated here. They were confident of another good season if he could keep Mowatt / sign more like him.

Reports are that the only thing to agree now is Ismael’s back room team. I hope this does not threaten the positions of Brunty and Mozza, for me that would really unacceptable

I would think Brunty would be OK as his position is not senior enough to worry about, Mozza on the other hand could be up for some serious debate???
