Linked up midfield and attack really well. Good on the ball too We opted out of that one, given how unlikely a Gillingham comeback was. RE: January transfer news and rumours - jjamez - 30-01-2015 tommy smith is wanted by the owls. they can pay up some of that inevitably laundered cash if they want him RE: January transfer news and rumours - EastLondonTerrier - 30-01-2015 Then we have no right back jj? We need to at least keep him til end of season or have replacement lined up. We have to get rid of deadwood (whether you think tommy smith is that is debateable) but we can't thin out our entire squad without getting people in to replace them. RE: January transfer news and rumours - jjamez - 31-01-2015 i never said he was deadwood? i'm just saying if they are wanting him they can pay up for him, purely because he's young with potential and due to the fact that he is our only right back. But one has to think that atm town are struggling to get a single brain cell in the transfer think tank and with all probability we will let him go for a bag of peanuts and a pint of coke! ![]() in all seriousness, we cant sell him now, its too late in the window, people (also the club) will claim that we have the loan window, like they have done on the striker front, but the problem with that in my eyes is we will be paying a fair wage to someone who isnt ours, and even more so, we will be in a position where we have no fullbacks come summer and I don't think DH will want to splash out on what may have to be nearly a new squad in summer, what with FFP in play, and even then i'm not even sure how town can say they are getting close because we dont seem to be spending anything compared to other clubs in this league. You cannot for one moment say we will find what a rb cb lb poss rw/lw cm 2x st all on the free agent market that will boost the squad in terms of quality? RE: January transfer news and rumours - Lord Snooty - 31-01-2015 Lolley to Walsall on loan. ![]() RE: January transfer news and rumours - theo_luddite - 31-01-2015 Hope not. CP has already said he expects him to get more game time for us. I already need jokers and a few twists to get my PFP's moving again without him leaving too. RE: January transfer news and rumours - jjamez - 31-01-2015 maybe we plan on getting rid of everyone so the board members can get a game? RE: January transfer news and rumours - jjamez - 01-02-2015 lolley linked with a move away. If he goes to another championship club tomorrow and we bring no one in, then I'm sorry, but for all the respect and gratitude etc I have for Dean, he would have to explain the direction we are taking following the exodus we have had and the fact that we havent got any strength in depth remaining RE: January transfer news and rumours - Lord Snooty - 01-02-2015 The squad's too big. It needed trimming down a bit. We've got enough quality to beat most teams in this division. RE: January transfer news and rumours - jjamez - 02-02-2015 i'm not too sure snoots. I'd say it had too much deadwood, but once that was gone, it was rather empty. we're relying heavily on lynch butterfield scans and our only two strikers. one of them gets injured and we look a completely different team and in all fairness the players that come in to replace them are not of the quality to be beating most teams. wallace for lynch... gobern for butterfield... bunn/lolley for scanz (thats the only good replacement, hence why lolley shouldn't be allowed to leave, unless it is for one month to get game time. i can just about accept loans coming in when the loan window opens, to tie us over, but then a lot needs addressing in the summer. there is only one player left that should be allowed to leave tomorrow if an offer comes in and thats gerrard. lolley and dixon in my eyes are needed, i'd be inclined to allow one or two of crooks, holmes and/or tronstand/billings leave on a months loan. but like i said i'd only be willing to say goodbye full time to one player. |
