West Brom are set to sell Tyler Roberts to Leeds United for initial fee of £2.5m rising to £4m. That’s the outgoing Pardew mentioned earlier. #wba #lufc

I’ve seen this kid play at Walsall a few times this season and he’s a talented kid. His movement and finishing was impressive.

I would bring him back and let him learn in training from Sturridge and try and get him to sign a new contract.

I think we may be missing a trick here letting him go.

I agree World Class. Kemar Roofe is a classic example. We are maybe too quick to let out Acadamy home grown talent go unless of course their contract is up and they want out. Leko will be the next on a free.

I think it's good business if we get £2.5m rising to £4m for Roberts.

Obviously he's young and got plenty of time to progress, but miles off Premier League standard from what I've seen and from what I've been told, is a bit cocky too.

Might not even be Championship standard, didn't exactly look like a goal machine in League 1.

Sadly you can't keep them all - best they look positively at West Brom for letting them go. If they do well we might look to bring them back one day and we would not want them to view that negatively.

Obviously we would never go back for Saido, unless someone in catering needs to be repalced.

I echo what others have said, it’s a shame he's leaving but to get 2.5m for a player that could leave us on a free and is purely potential isn't a bad deal. I think this is one where both clubs will be relatively happy.

RE: WBA Transfer Window - Final Day - Worldclassalbion - 31-01-2018

I suppose you’re right, after all if it’s £2.5m up front that’s the Sturridge loan deal covered and maybe a bit of change.

It's always a shame when a highly rated young player leaves the club but he isn't going to break into our first team yet and may never do so unless we get relegated to the Championship.

Like Chris Wood and Kemar Roofe, he deserves a chance to see if he can make it a lower league club and then get back to the Premier League in the future. That's better than 6 month loan moves and playing in the under 23 league.

Good luck to him.

I see Jim White on Sky has tweeted that Sturridge should have gone to Newcastle, not the Baggies. He went on to say "How could you turn down the iconic number 9 shirt at St James' Park?"
Well Jim, you haven't got a ******* clue have you. Yesterday we said goodbye to a legend at the Baggies who wore the iconic number 9 shirt - Cyrille. Prior to that we had The King who wore the Number 9 shirt.
Anyway, he couldn't wear the number 9 shirt at Newcastle as it is already worn by the "legendary" Dwight Gayle!
What a crass comment to come out with on an emotional day for all at the Hawthorns. Shut up Jim!

Firstly would like to start with saying a massive thankyou to everybody at @WBA for helping me grow not only as a player but as a person. Delighted to announce my move to @LUFC and ready to start a new chapter of my life and career ??⚽️ https://t.co/iMRpeanVhp
